~Selena~

A loud noise broke me out of my slumber. I sat up, my eyes shifting across the room as everything came into focus. I took a deep breath, the bed sheet falling off my chest and into my lap. The air chilled me as another knock made it to the door. I covered myself, moving towards the frame before opening it. My hair was sprawled all over the place. I brushed it back, gazing ahead at the man before me. It was Nick.

"You're still sleeping?" He asked, taking in my appearance before I shied away behind the door.

"Is it time for them to go?"

"Them, who?" Nick questioned as my eyes worked through the darkness, finding the bed empty. My heart sort of fell as he spoke once more. "Demi and Joe left hours ago. I thought you knew."

"Uh, yeah." I felt stupid. I'd been chipping away Demi's exterior wall she placed up that I thought she'd at least care to wake me. I couldn't tell her goodbye. I pressed my back against the door frame, my body aching as I thumbed the sheet across me.

"Can you get ready? Unless you want to stay in there all day." Nick closed the door on his own as I stumbled back. Catching myself before locking the door. Although somewhere in my heart I offered myself to the woman, she didn't have to use me and just leave as if I wasn't worth it. I sat against the bed for a few minutes, my fingers trailing where she once lay. I took a deep breath, hoping she'd make it back safe. I wanted to scold her for numbing me.

I quickly dressed in some shorts and a t-shirt, walking into the hall to find Nick staring at me. I had brushed my hair into a pony-tail, sliding on some gym shoes before meeting him. He stayed silent as he led me down the hall and down the steps. I was hungry, but I didn't want to tell him that. We made it through a group of people dressed in all black, agents I supposed. It was a little after ten in the morning as we stopped.

            "Do you require food?"

"I would like to eat," my voice only caused him to shake his head, disappearing into a room as I stood where I was. I had previously grabbed the phone Demi had left for me out of the drawer. But it only worked one way. I could press a button to let her know I wanted to talk to her, but I doubt she'd get back to me. Nick reappeared, a large plate in his arms as one other person stepped to his side. The man held two glasses of orange juice.

"Follow me." Nick had kept his distance, leading me out onto a small back patio where a table sat. The view was amazing. The space overlooked the ocean, with the beach just below it and a bustling street near the right. I sat on one end as he did so on the other. Our food was placed before us as the other man left. Now, closed off from the inside, we sat in silence. I slowly began to nibble on the eggs and toast he selected before sipping my orange juice.

"Do you love her?" Nick studied me, not touching his food at all as I glanced up at him.

            "Demi?"

"Obviously." He focused on me, waiting for my reply as I placed my fork down. There was a part of me that was still confused on my feelings. Confused only because she stayed reserved. She spaced herself from me so much emotionally that I never knew how she felt. But last night was different. For the first time she opened her soul up to me. I sighed as Nick tapped the table.

            "Don't be rude." I scolded.

            "Do you love her?"

"What difference does it make to you?" I sipped on my orange juice as Nick sighed.
