I willingly followed Selena through floors and floors of corridors. She was blindly directing us towards the pool until stopping near a map. I let her do all of the talking, pointing out where we had to go. The room was quite small upon finding it, holding only half of an actual sized pool within a horseshoe shaped outline.
"There has to be some swimsuits someplace." Selena moved away, studying the doors off to the side before inspecting them. I on the other hand focused on the peace and solitude this empty room created. You could almost feel the motion of the large shipping container move before it leveled out once more. The brunette accompanying me had disappeared, my senses kicking up.
"Selena?" I hated the way my voice would shake when I was uncertain of her whereabouts. But I refused to call her again, walking towards where she once was before she stepped out of the room.
"I found bathing suits." She held them up in victory. Both black one piece suits, cut very high up on the neckline. I hadn't worn one of those since my childhood days, but I grabbed it none the less. Although I hadn't feared anyone walking into the space, Selena found it imperative to go inside a room to change. She disappeared once more as I stood near the pool glancing down into it. My reflection was always a nice image to see. It was rare that I caught myself staring at my own features, because honestly, I had no time for such nonsense. I couldn't wait to change, so I quickly stripped myself, happily placing my feet into the luke warm liquid. A small shiver trailing my spine before I jumped in, legs straight and eyes open.
I forced myself down into the eight feet of water, struggling to touch the bottom with my toes. The ceiling could no longer be seen, but the lights shimmered none the less. I slowly made my way across the pool bottom, an image shading my steps. I gazed up, my mind blank for a moment just before the shape disappeared. It had to be Selena, possibly wondering what I was doing under the water so long. After a good five minutes, although eighteen was my record, I pushed myself upward.
"Are you naked?" The first words to hit my water filled ears. I shook my head, clearing the liquid before the woman sighed.
"It's a freeing feeling."
"I see." She crouched down in front of me as I crossed my arms over the rim.
"I couldn't wait to change. It's a stupid thing to put clothes on just to get them wet." I kicked my feet a few times, staring up into those brown eyes looking down at me.
"How are you so confident? I mean yeah, you're pretty hot without any clothes on." Selena smirked.
"I suppose you would know." I found myself biting onto my lip before falling back under the ripples I had created. No other sound was heard. I didn't want to think. I was taught to release all thoughts and ideas when submerged. It was never a good feeling originally, but I came to welcome it. I don't know how long I had been under, but a faint tapping noise caught my attention. I glanced up, spotting Selena's hand treading water. She was trying to have me come back up, a scary situation when a person is under water for so long. But I knew how to hold my breath. Now although I was use to being alone in a pool, something caused me to reach up and poke her fingers. She retreated, a squeal echoing through the space as I found myself opening my mouth to giggle. I lost a bit of air and angrily pushed myself up to the surface. Selena had crossed her arms, sticking out her tongue at me as I ran my fingers across my face.
"Please put on your swimsuit."
"Or," I smiled, a feeling of nervousness washing over me. It was an annoying feeling. "You could lose yours." My words caused me to smile, my face paining from how wide my grin must have been.
