"It was so much faster earlier." Hiccup complained. He frowned.

"Well I'm sorry for turning up." Merida said jokingly. Hiccup rolled his eyes.

"I didn't mean it like that." He said. Merida giggled.

"I know that." She said. She hugged Hiccup. Hiccup blushed. Merida looked at the sky.

"It's getting kind of dark." Jack said. "Shall we stop to set up camp?" He asked. The others nodded. They stopped and sat down under a few trees.

"So... Any thought as to what we're going to do when we get to Pitch?" Hiccup asked. Jack smiled awkwardly as Rapunzel and Merida looked away. "Or are we just going in without a game plan?"

"Yeah, pretty much." Jack said. He laughed nervously.

"So pretty much you don't know what is going to happen?" Merida said.

"Well this is Pitch we're talking about. And anyway it's not like you came up with a plan either." Jack said. Merida squinted her eyes.

"Good point." She said. "We probably should come up with a plan though."

"It's going to be hard because we don't really know what he's going to do." Rapunzel said. Suddenly Jack looked extremely interested in Rapunzel's face.

"Rapunzel, I never really thought about it until now." Jack began.

"About what?" Rapunzel asked nervously. Hiccup had his hand over his mouth, his face was red.

"I just- I feel bad for not realising it until now but-" He said. He leaned forward on one hand. A bit of Rapunzel's hair tangled in between his fingers.

"Yes Jack?" Rapunzel urged.

"What would happen if-" He murmured. Hiccup looked as if he was about to explode.

"If what?" Rapunzel whispered. Merida looked from Jack to Rapunzel to Hiccup and back.

"If-" He paused. "I- just did- this?" Jack said. He lifted his hand that the strand of hair had intwined in. He raised a lock of hair to Rapunzel's upper lip and held it as if it was a moustache. Jack and Hiccup burst out laughing and rolling around. Rapunzel frowned and punched Jack. Merida was giggling as Rapunzel hit Hiccup. Jack wiped a tear from his eye.

"Priceless." Hiccup wheezed.

"Sorry Rapunzel." Jack said when he finally caught his breath. "It's just I really wanted to see what would happen."

"Sure." Rapunzel said. She crossed her arms over her chest. Jack moved closer and hugged Rapunzel.

"To be honest, if I swung that way, I'd defiantly go for you." He said. Rapunzel laughed loudly.

"That's even more rubbish than you saying you wanted to see me with a moustache." She said. She cuddled up to Jack. She yawned. Jack ran his fingers through Rapunzel's hair.

"Tired?" He asked.

"I sure am." Hiccup said. He jokingly snuggled up to Jack while hugging Merida. "Jack, run your icy cold fingers through my short brown hair and tell me how much you love me." Hiccup said in a high pitched voice. Jack pushed the laughing Hiccup off. Merida and Rapunzel were laughing.

"I'm going to sleep." Rapunzel yawned. Merida nodded.

"Me too." She said. Everyone said their good nights. Hiccup smiled at the sleeping Merida. In Hiccup's eyes, every freckle was a sign of perfection.
