"I'm so tired." Rapunzel yawned. She stretched her arms out. "So, considering it's about six in the morning, what's for breakfast?"
"Whatever we can find I guess." Hiccup answered. Rapunzel smiled. Jack had his arms crossed over his chest. Merida was the same. They both looked away from each other. Rapunzel ran to a bush. It had berries.
"What about these?" She said. She was about to put one in her mouth when Merida spoke up.
"Those are nightshade berries. Highly poisonous." She said matter of factly. Rapunzel squealed and threw it away.
"Never mind then." Rapunzel grinned awkwardly. Suddenly she could hear something.
"Is that?" Hiccup stuttered.
"A river?" Jack asked. Merida ran towards the sound and everyone followed. It was a river. Merida could see that there was something in the water.
"Fish!" She called excitedly. She whipped out her bow and arrow and aimed it at a fish. She fired and it hit. She picked the arrow and removed the fish. She held it up.
"Fish?" Hiccup asked. Merida threw Hiccup the fish. Hiccup raised an eyebrow. He went to eat it.
"Ew! Don't eat it raw!" Merida said. Hiccup moved it from his mouth.
"I wasn't going to eat it." He said sheepishly. Merida shook her head. She caught another fish.
"Well are you going to help me?" She asked. Jack called out. He was standing on some ice. Four fish were frozen in it.
"I think it seems I have two more then you. Am I right?" Jack teased. Suddenly Rapunzel laughed. She pulled her wet hair out of the water.
"I have five." Rapunzel smiled. Five fishes were flapping around in her wet hair. Hiccup was still on shore.
"Don't worry, just leave the helpless Viking boy to watch in awe." Hiccup said sarcastically. Merida lifted an arrow. "No, no. I'll just make a fire."
"Are you sure you don't want it?" Merida asked. Hiccup shook his head an started waking around in the forest. He picked off branches and picked up dry leaves. He kept walking around collecting materials. He walked deeper into the forest.
"I got another one!" He heard Jack yell.
"Took your time! I already got eight!" Rapunzel called. Hiccup heard them laughing. He kept walking. He started to whistle. After a few minutes he realised he was far away from them. Suddenly he heard someone crying. He sped up towards where the person was crying. He rushed into an opening. There was a lady on a rock. She was weeping into her hands.
"Uh, miss?" Hiccup began. The lady looked up and moved back. Hiccup realised it was Mother Gothel. Hiccup moved back. He glared at her.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you. Why should I?" She said.
"Because you work with Pitch." Hiccup said.
"Not anymore." She sighed. She wept into her hands again. Hiccup raised an eyebrow. "Not since that red head made a deal with him!"
"Who? Merida?" Hiccup asked.
"Yes, that one." Gothel cried.
"No, Merida didn't make a deal with Pitch. She wouldn't of made a deal with him." Hiccup defended.
"Well she did. And now I'm all by myself." She cried even more. "Just leave. You obviously don't believe me so just go."
"Whatever. It's not like I can trust you either." Hiccup said harshly. He turned away and started walking back. I've got to tell the others, he thought to himself as he stumbled. He was carrying a pile of sticks back to the river. He got there. He laid down the sticks and twigs.
"Hiccup! Guess how many I caught." Jack said.
"I have to tell you something." Hiccup said. He lowered his voice. "I saw Mother Gothel crying. She told me about how she got dropped by Pitch because there was a new alliance he has with someone else."
"Who?" Jack asked cautiously.
"Now, I don't take her word for truth but, it has tied in with a lot of things." Hiccup continued.
"Who is it?" Jack asked again.
"Merida. Gothel said Merida had made a deal. Now I don't believe it but I thought you might want to know." Hiccup said. He rubbed his arms. "Okay, now I feel bad."
"Why? You told me the truth." Jack said.
"Yeah but this is ratting out my girlfriend for something she didn't do." Hiccup replied.
"Well at least we'll have some evidence against her if she is." Jack said.
