Merida woke up sleepily. She rubbed her eyes as she sat up.
"Rise and shine sleeping beauty." Hiccup said quietly. He was siting next to Merida.
"I am awake." She said. She nuzzled Hiccup's chest. Hiccup awkwardly hugged her head. He dug his nose into the orange mess of hair.
"Ew!" Jack said jokingly. "They're being all cutesy. Yuk!"
"You're just jealous." Merida yawned. Jack laughed.
"You wish! I have Rapunzel." He said. Rapunzel was still sleeping, her head was on his lap. He ran his fingers through her extensive hair. She slowly opened her eyes. She smiled. Jack smiled back. "Morning."
"Morning." She yawned. She sat up. "How long have you guys been awake?"
"For a while." Jack replied. He slowly wrapped his arms around Rapunzel's waist. Rapunzel smiled.
"We should get going." Hiccup said. He stood up and helped Merida up.
"Yeah." Jack said. He helped Rapunzel up. They started walking. Rapunzel started skipping.
"So, I had a nightmare, then hiccup had a nightmare, then Jack did... So it must be your turn next, Merida." Rapunzel said.
"Uh... No. I had a nightmare the night I left." She said. Jack cocked his head. "I had one because Pitch came to make a real deal with me and I said no."
"So he made us think you made a deal with him just so you would leave allowing him to have a chance at making a deal?" Jack asked. Merida nodded.
"And I may have told him that I hate him." Merida said.
"Hence why he sent nightmares after you." Hiccup said. Merida nodded again.
"Well why didn't you stop them with your bow?" Jack asked.
"I stopped to have a drink and I put them down for a second and as soon as I looked back they weren't there." Merida explained. She stretched her arms out.
"Okay then..." Jack said. Suddenly a screech came from above them. Merida and Jack readied their weapons. Rapunzel searched for her frying pan and Hiccup raised his arms to protect him. Suddenly whatever it was swooped down and tackled Hiccup. The other three turned and saw something attacking Hiccup. They lowered their weapons as they realised what it was.
"Toothless, bud get off!" Hiccup laughed. Toothless rolled around almost on top of Hiccup.
"Aww but Hiccup, he hasn't seen you in so long." Jack teased. Toothless purred in delight. Hiccup rubbed the back of Toothless's neck.
"You know what this means?" Hiccup asked. He smiled deviously. "One less day to get there."
