Morning...
The sun enter its bright rays inside the cave. I open my reddish brown eyes with a yawn. I look to my left side and see father is missing from his spot. I touch it with my paw.
Cold...
He must of left earlier. Probably went on patrol. I can't believe he went without me! Oh well I guess. I got up with a stretch and tip toe out the cave without waking anyone else up. The sky is a beautiful baby blue color, birds are singing, animal herds are walking by and grazing on the soft green grass.
Everything looks so peaceful and calm. A cool breeze blew through my fur and half grown mane. I smile enjoying it.
"Makosa?" A voice calls.
I turn around seeing mother. "Good morning, mother!"
She walks up joining me on Pride Rock's ledge. "You know your father is going to be upset about you missing your morning lesson. Don't tell me you've overslept again?"
"Yeah I know..."
"Makosa, you have to stop going out so late a night. You know how important your King lessons are. Your growing up to a handsome smart lion now. You need to focus on your responsibilities more before having fun."
I roll my eyes. "Yes, mother..."
Mother grins then licks the side of my face. "Your still my baby boy though. Don't grow too fast on me!"
I laugh. "Moooooooom!"
Mother laughs too.
"Good morning, I see you two are up!" Said a voice.
It's father back from patrol. He walks up Pride Rock and joins us. I look down at my front paws already knowing what he's about to say to me.
"Makosa you've missed your morning lesson again for the third time. I'm starting to get more concerned about you spending too much time at night with your friends."
"I know father, I'm so sorry. It won't ever happen again!"
He sits down next to mother. "I know it won't because I'm going to ban you from going out at night."
"What?! No, you can't."
"I get that you want a social life Makosa, but you can always do that later. Right now you need your King lessons. One day I won't be here and I need you to carry on in my place. It's all part of the great-"
