Auni

"I wonder what those two are talking about..."

"Probably someone where kissing who knows!"

I push Ishara and stick out my tongue. "Ew, gross!"

Ishara laughs.

"Hey guys!" A voice yells.

We both look ahead seeing Makosa and Bahiya running towards us down a hill.

"They're back!" I smile.

"What took you guys so long?" Ishara asks. "I know your future King and Queen, but gees!"

Makosa pawed at Ishara's face playfully. "Nothing. Just had a talk that's all."

"Mhmmmm." I say with a smirk, while crossing my furry arms.

Bahiya rolled her eyes at me. "Auni, it wasn't like that. Please stop..."

"Sure it wasn't..."

"Anyways..." Makosa interrupted. "What do you guys want to do today?"

Ishara shrugged. "I don't know."

"Makosa!" A deeper voice calls.

It's the King. He walks over to us. We all bow except for Makosa.

"Good afternoon your majesty!" We greet.

The King nodded. "Good afternoon! Makosa, it is time for your King lessons. Say goodbye to your friends and follow me."

Makosa groans slowly following behind his father. "Bye guys..."

We wave. "Bye Kosa!"

Kosa is his nickname...

Bahiya sits down and sigh. "I feel so bad for him."

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Makosa is taking this royalty stuff kind of hard. He doesn't really want to be a King anymore."

Ishara snorts. "Pfft, please! My boy always wanted to be King. Can't you see how happy he is?"

I shook my head. "I don't know Ishara. Bahiya is right, I have been noticing how sad he's been lately."

Bahiya nods. "Yeah..."

Ishara shrug his shoulders and walk away. "Hmm, I guess. But Makosa doesn't have a choice. Both of his parents are royalty and he's the only child now. Sometimes you just have to accept and deal with it."

Bahiya frowns. "Well Ishara how about you be future King then!"

"And be paired with you? Gross!"

With that, he was gone.

"Auni, sometimes I just want to squeeze your brother's head."

I laugh. "Girl come on. Let's see what the lionesses are up to."

Bahiya and I walk side by side back to Pride Rock.

Ishara

Bahiya frowns. "Well Ishara how about you be the future King then!"

"And be paired with you? Gross!" I chuckled.

With that, I was gone between the tall grasses. I don't understand why Makosa is so upset about being future King. Do you know how many lions in the world fight and want that position? If I was the future King I would be proud and grateful.

Nothing or no one would stand in my way. I would have all the ladies over me!

Speaking of ladies...

"Who do you think is the cutest in the pride?"

"I don't know, that's a very hard question. Who do you think?"

My ears twitch. I hear voices close by and pause walking. I stick my head out of the tall grass and found two teen lionesses laying on large rocks.

"Well, Makosa is the most handsome one. I mean look at his growing mane. It has two colors! I've never seen a lion with that before."

"True. But he's a Prince and you know how that goes. Not to mention he's paired with Bahiya already."

"Ugh! She's so lucky..."

"Yeah. But I favor Ishara!"

"Ishara? He has a big head!"

I frown. Hey!

I walk out of the tall grass to join their gossip.

"Hello ladies!" I smile.

One of them roll their eyes. "Not you again."

"Hi Mila, you missed me?"

"Why do you have to annoy me everyday?"

I laugh. "I wasn't. I just couldn't help but to notice your friend and thought I could introduce myself."

Mila's friend giggled.

"This is Kisima my best friend. Now you've met her, beat it!"

Kisima stood up from the rock and jumped down. She walks up closer to me. "Oh Mila, you don't have to be rude! Sorry about that Ishara. It's nice to meet you."

I shook her paw. "It's nice to meet another beautiful lady too!"

Her cheeks turned red while Mila groaned.

"Want to go to the waterhole for a drink?" I ask.

Kisima smiled wide. "Yeah, sure!"

We both walk away side by side.

"Have fun!" Mila says.

"We will." I replied.

"I was being sarcastic..."

Oh Mila...
