Sadiku
I was walking around bored in the Out-lands. Mother is still upset at me for not killing the King the moment I had him. In result, mother and I had got into a big argument. So we've kept away our distance for a couple of days.
"This place is such a big dump. I need to find another spot to live in. I am an adult now and free to be independent. It's not like mother cares if I go or not anyway." I snort. "She'll have her puppets Bamba and Dogo to keep her company."
I kick a pebble with my left paw. I plop myself down on the ground dusty ground ; laying there with a sigh. I close my emerald green eyes.
What's the point?
"Mosi slow down!" A voice yells.
My right ear twitches. I hear running paws and someone talking. I open back my eyes and see two lion cubs running across the Out-Lands.
Wait, lion cubs?!
"What are they doing here and where did they come from? This is not a place for an lion cub. The hyenas will kill them, especially mother if she finds out!"
I got up quickly and follow behind them to see where they're headed off to. They're both running to the direction of the clan.
I gasp. "No. They're going to be killed!"
I hurry off to stop them. "Hey, kids! Stop!!!"
"Do you hear something, Sahel?" One of the cubs question.
They stopped running and looked around.
"Don't step any further cubs. You're going to get yourselves killed!" I warned.
They both turned around and look at me with wide eyes.
"W-Who are you?" The one with bluish green eyes asks me.
"The Prince. This isn't your exact playground here cub. I suggest you go back where you've come from. There's hyenas here who wouldn't mind making you both their breakfast."
"D-Did he j-just say h-hyenas?!" The cub with two different colored eyes asked frightened. One eye is red and the other blue.
I nod, "Yes. Now let's get out of here before someone sees you here and I could also get in trouble too. I'll walk you home, come on!"
I start walking fast to the direction of the Out-Land's exit. The two cubs leap close behind me.
I hope nobody sees me...
"SADIKU!"
Too late...
It's mother. I gulp and stop walking. I slowly turn myself around facing mother who looks very surprised. The two cubs hide underneath me.
"I knew I've smelt lion cubs." She smiled widely. "Where are you going with them?"
"Back home where they belong. They were lost from their parents. Let them live, they're innocent." I said, hoping she'll understand.
