Chapter 11 - Finding Out

Since Lucy had been told on the condition of her mother's health. She skipped school for a week already and doesn't allow anyone into her room. Well, except Natsu. The others tried to get Natsu to talk but Natsu just brushed them off saying that Lucy must be the one to tell them and it wasn't his place to tell.

Natsu visits the Heartfilia mansion every day since then. He remembered seeing Lucy being so vulnerable at that time and didn't want anyone else to see that.

Flashback~

" S-She's...d-d-dying... " Lucy choked out as more tears streamed down her face.

Natsu tightened his grip around Lucy and buried his face into Lucy's golden locks as he started to tear up a bit.

" Shh...it's gonna be alright... " Natsu cooed into Lucy's ear as Lucy continued to cry.

A few moments later...

" A-Arigato...Natsu... " Lucy stammered as she looked up to see Natsu's eyes having some tears.

" I'm fine. It's just that...I didn't know her for very long. " Natsu reassured.

" Mm-hmm, ne, Natsu? " Lucy asked for his attention.

" Hmm? "

" C-Can you stay...h-here with me...f-for the n-night? " she asked as she blushed a deep red which Natsu thought that she looked adorable at that time.

" Sure! " he replied.

He went out of the room to call his parents about him staying over and that the reason was Lucy's personal reason.

When, he came back, he saw Lucy staring out at the window, her back turned to him.

" Luce... " he called out softly.

Lucy turned around with tears streaming down her face but had a small smile on her face.

" N-Natsu... " she choked out.

Natsu immediately engulfed her into his warm embrace. He couldn't leave her yet. Not at all. When she was vulnerable like this. Too vulnerable and he didn't want anyone to see this side of her to take advantage of her.

Flashback ends~

The others decided to go to the Heartfilia mansion to find out what's going on. They wanted to be there before Natsu but unfortunately for them, Natsu was already there.

" What are you doing here? " Natsu asked as he was at the entrance of the mansion.

" Natsu, " Erza started as she took a step forward, " we want to know what's going on. Lucy's has not gone to school for a week and she's not answering our messages nor our calls. "

" And, you're not telling us what's going on. " Levy added.

" So, we want to know what's going on and decided to come here. " Wendy piped up.

" Although we wanted to be here before you, you are already here. " Laxus added.

" I told you. It's Lucy's decision to tell you and not me. Anyways, I'm going back to Luce. " with that, Natsu headed to Lucy's room.

" Ah, what a surprise. " the group heard a voice from the top of the staircase.

There, they saw Layla. Her skin was pale as snow and her hair was down. She was wearing a red yukata and had a smile on her face.

" Auntie Layla! "

" Lady Layla! "

The girls and boys said at the same time as they got on one knee.

" Oh please, stand up. " Layla smiled warmly to them until Spetto saw Layla.

" Lady Layla! You shouldn't be out of bed! Let me escort you back to your room. " Spetto said as she quickly went over to Layla whose smile turned into a frown.

" At least show them to my room. I've got to explain to them about what's happening around here. " Layla said and went back to her room.

Spetto quickly ushered the group to the master's bedroom and saw Layla under the covers.

" Spetto, you can go now. " Layla said with a warm smile and Spetto bowed then left.

" Now, let me explain to you why Lucy hasn't been going to school and why Natsu isn't telling you the reason. " Layla started as she started to tell them what she told Lucy.

" No way... " Levy said in horror after listening to what Layla had told them.

" It's true dear. I'm dying and Lucy called Natsu, her mate first. " Layla explained

" Y-You can't be! " Wendy started to tear up at the news while Romeo started to comfort her.

Juvia's eyes were covered by a shadow while Gray just hugged her. Gajeel had Levy's head tucked under his Chin as she sobbed.

Erza was frozen in shock as Jellal hugged her from behind. Laxus just hugged Mira as she cried into his chest.

Layla just smiled warmly at them until she started coughing.the others immediately stopped crying and started to panic.

Seconds later, Spetto bursts into the room with a pill and glass of water in hand while Natsu and Lucy rushed in behind her.

After swallowing the pill and drinking some water, Layla smiled towards them all.

" I'm fine, I'm fine. " Layla reassured them with her hands up.

Everyone sighed in relief as Jude came in.

" Papa... " Lucy murmured.

" Lucy, you have to go back to school. You can't stay here forever. " Jude said with a gentle tone.

" I don't want your grades to go down because of me. " Layla added.

" And we miss you, Lucy! " Juvia smiled while the others nodded.

" O-Ok... "

" Yay! " they all went to hug the blonde girl and squeezed her tight and Natsu was growling when they did that.

" Don't growl at my mate, flame brain. " Gray hissed.

" Your mate is squeezing my mate to death. Same with all of yours. " Natsu retorted.

" They haven't seen her for a week. Let them. " Laxus growled.

" Boys. " Jude said sternly which immediately made them got on one knee and said " Sir Jude "

" Guys, you should eat dinner with us since y'all are here. " Lucy smiled genuinely after awhile.

" I'll see you guys next week then. Bye!" Lucy waved goodbye to her friends and mate as they went back to their territory.

'Mama, how long do you have to live?' Lucy thought as she went back inside her mansion.

I'm back with a new chapter guys! I wanted to update yesterday but had no inspiration and updated my third story instead. Anyways, can you guys do me a favourable please read my third story Fairy Tail X One Piece Crossover. It'll make my day if you do. Anyways, my school year has ended but I have to perform tomorrow but I have more time to update my stories before 2017 as next year will be a stressful year for me. Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
