"I'll resign, Mister Martè," hindi ko alam kung saan ko hinugot ang lakas ng loob ko. I was still trapped between his arms and the glass wall, the air between us thick with intensity.
"What?" he whispered, leaning in closer.
"Narinig mo ko, Philip—"
"Is it because—"
"Yes..." Ako na mismo ang nagbaba ng tingin.
"Tinatakot mo ba ako, Fen?" I saw his Adam's apple move, his jaw tightening.
"Hindi—"
I didn't get to finish. He pressed his lips against mine. It started slow, a nibbling request to enter, but when I tried to push him away, he just pressed me harder against the glass. His arms, previously on the wall, were now locked around my neck and waist.
My resistance melted. My hands, once balled into fists against his shirt, traveled up to his broad shoulders and finally circled his neck. I answered his kiss with the same heat, the same desperation. He moaned, deepening the kiss, tilting his face to claim me fully. My hands tangled in his hair, and when his hand lowered to my bottom, I couldn't help but moan into his mouth.
It was so wrong, but it felt so, so right.
We eventually pulled apart, both of us panting. Silence filled the office, broken only by our heavy breathing. A smile was plastered on his face—a look so hypnotic I couldn't help but smile back.
"You're mine..."
"Ala ka? Ano ako bale?" reklamo ko, kunwari ay nakasimangot. Pero sa totoo lang, ang saya-saya ko.
"I like you, Fen," he said, kissing my hands before cupping his face with them. "I know this is sudden, but... I don't know how to explain this."
"Paano iyan, hinalikan mo na ako... pakasalan mo na ako, Sir Martè," pabiro kong hirit. He suddenly turned serious and didn't move. "Oy! Joke lang iyon, Philip! Ano ka ba?!"
He chuckled, giving me that gorgeous smile again. I pushed him away gently to catch my breath. He didn't let go of my hand, though; he interlaced his fingers with mine.
"I like you, Fen," he repeated, his gaze intense.
"Fen—"
"Oo, narinig ko!" Natatawa na ako sa hitsura niya, at sa huli ay natawa na rin siya. He gave me another peck, a gesture that made me feel so protected.
"I never felt so excited and thrilled by anybody before, Fen. Until you. And I'm planning for us to stay this way as long as we can't get enough..."
"Oops... bago maging censored iyang sasabihin mo, kakain na muna ako... so bye muna—"
"No... I want to eat too. Let's eat together. And this conversation is not over," he threatened playfully.
I felt dizzy afterward, overwhelmed by everything. How did I lower my guard so fast? But then, he had been giving me clues all along. Why me? I have so many questions, but I'm determined to find the answers.
After lunch, I went back to my desk to finalize the files for the annual June celebration. Mister Martè went to his meeting, but before he left, he asked me to have dinner with him at Ayala Triangle.
At 4:55 PM, the phone rang.
"Century International Corp., how may I help you?"
"Hi..."
I froze. I knew that angelic voice.
"Hello? May I speak with Philip? This is..."
"U-uhm, I'm so sorry, Ma'am, but Mister Martè isn't here. But you can leave a message..." I fought to keep my voice steady.
"Oh, never mind... just tell him that I called. Thank you, Feny."
She hung up. I sat there, stunned. Shit. Kilala niya ako? Of course, she would. My heart was thumping, not just from the day's events, but from the sudden realization of who just called.
Am I threatened? I think I am. And I don't know if I'm ready to handle what comes next.
