CHAPTER 38

"Girlfriend?" my forehead creased as I stared at her "Pam, ano'ng binigay mo sa kapatid ko?"

"E-eggpie.." she answered then.

I balled my palm into fist as I shut my eyes tightly and exhaled sharply. I opened my eyes again and caught hers. I don't know what to feel right at this moment.

"Eggpie?!" I hissed "Fvcking shit!" I cursed then looked away.

I rubbed my face using my palms and walked out. It's so frustrating. Why does she have to give him that food? Sa dinami-rami ng pagkain?! Dammit!

I stayed outside the hospital hoping that my brother was safe. I shook my head then covered my face using my palms. I've never been this frustrated before. I am very protective with my family but Pamela is very important to me too. And what makes me more irked was I can't think rationally.

Then this fate was really testing my patience. When bad things happens, something bad again follows.

"Trystan"

I stood up and frowned. "What do you want?" I asked sternly.

Ashley stepped forward and smiled at me. The creased on my forehead deepened as I watched her walking towards my direction.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

I looked away and heaved a sigh.
"Anong ginagawa mo dito sa ospital? May sakit ka ba?"

I looked at her again "Ikaw? What are you doing here?" I retorted.

She bowed her head immediately then fidgetted the hem of her shirt "N-napadaan lang.." she answered.

My brows furrowed when I heard the crack on her voice but I set it aside and shrugged.

"Umuwi ka na" I said then left her.

I stayed at the convenience store near the hospital. I've spent my time there waiting for the update of Troy's condition. Two hours staying there was the longest and tiring hours of my life, so, I was ecstatic when Dad informed me that my little brother was finally okay and looking for me. I ran into the hospital and released a sigh of relief when I saw him awake on his hospital bed.

"Are you okay? How are you feeling? May masakit ba sayo?" I asked.

Troy hugged me "Im okay Kuya. Sorry" he pouted then.

I smiled and ruffled his hair when I pulled back. "It's okay. Don't do it again, huh?"

He nodded vigorously. Mom insisted him to take some rest and thankfully he obeyed. Hindi ako umalis sa tabi niya. I didn't even noticed Yanna and Pam was there until Pam bid her goodbye.

Mom patted my shoulder when the door closed behind her and gave me an accusing look. I felt guilty somehow when I met her eyes but the irrational side of me tells me I shouldn't be.

"Hindi mo naman sinisisi si Pam, right?" Mom asked calmly.

I bit my lips and looked away. I heard Mom clicked her tongue and cupped my face so that I could look at her. "Anak.. Hindi niya alam. Don't blame her okay? Dapat nga maging thankful ka sa kanya dahil nageffort siya sa regalo niya. Troy said he liked the egg so, she granted it. Walang may kasalanan, you have to apologize to her"

As if on cue, my irrational side vanished and I was able to think. I heaved a sigh and ruffled my hair and immediately, I stood up.

"Mom.."

Mom smiled at me knowingly and nodded. She knew what I was thinking and im thankful for that. Mom knows best, right?

"Ihahatid kita sa bahay, nandun pa yung sasakyan mo, right?" Dad asked.
