More Fights and Movies... Alright!
━━━━━━━━━
"Maybe we should watch-" I stopped as my eyes went wide, me tossing the DVD box across the room quickly. I really didn't need to know that my dad recently purchased Fifty Shades of Grey. Especially since we'd been here another eight hours and they haven't come down yet. Kim and I had been outside up until a little bit ago.
"What was it?" Kim asked absentmindedly as she scrolled the newsfeed on my phone, her eyes practically glued to the thing. I shook my head, glancing over to the other side of the room. The DVD probably wasn't far enough from me.
"Nothing." I said surely before looking back to the cabinet filled with movies. "You got a favorite movie?" I called back to her, hoping we could pick something simple, romantic, but not too romantic, something calm-
"When a Stranger Calls." Kim replied, glancing up to me with a wide grin. "That's the best. It's a horror movie, but it wasn't made well enough to be super scary. Just kind of makes you jump a bit." I could feel my eyebrow raise as I looked back into the cabinet, knowing it probably wouldn't be in there. Which was good, I hated horror movies, and so did my dad. He scares way too easily.
"Unless it's sappy romance, some kind of science fiction flic, or a comedy, it's probably not in here." I pressed my lips together as I looked over the movies, still not seeing one that caught my eye. Maybe I wasn't in the movie mood. Like yeah, I felt like making popcorn, but still.
"The Notebook." Kim mussed teasingly. I laughed as I turned to see an utter look of disgust on her face. "Give me a break. How about... Clueless!" She cheered as she locked my phone and tossed it to the other side of the media room couch. I laughed and nodded as I leaned down a bit to my old section of movies. Clueless had been my favorite movie for ages. This would be great. I hadn't watched it in years.
I slipped it out from the shelf and quickly walked over to the projector, popping it in and walking back over to the couch next to Kim. We had pulled blankets down from my room and made beds down here. Where else would we be sleeping tonight, anyways?
"How long have you and Chase been together?" Kim asked, fumbling with her fingers as she glanced down to her hands. I shrugged and pulled the blanket over myself, turning my sights over the movie.
"Over two years." I got out, my stomach flipping at the mention. "We broke up for about two or three months recently... But we're back together." Kim frowned as she turned to me.
"And you got married." She chirped. "What happened that made you two break up?"
I froze. I stopped moving, breathing, blinking, everything. I felt absolutely sick every time I even thought about it myself, but it made me feel even worse when someone else was asking me. Or when I had to explain myself to other people. Explain why I did what I did. It makes me practically sound like a middle schooler with how stupid of a reason I used to cheat on him.
"I umm," I paused as I looked down to the ground. "I messed up." I said, letting out a breath. "I cheated on Chase, but ended it right before he found out. Me and this guy, had only been on a few dates and had never kissed, but Chase found out, and broke up with me before he left for work in another state for two months. Even when he got back, we stayed friends for a while just to make sure everything was okay. And now, we're fighting about it again." I could feel her staring at me as I told my story, feeling my heart beat quicken as my thoughts ran over what I had done. This was one mistake I would never be able to get over. There was no way I could make it right. Not with myself, and especially, not with Chase.
