Mid June of 2024

"So why exactly did you call us here?" I teased Leo's way as I knelt down on the grass. Aura sent me a knowing smile before I pointed out towards the boys. She nodded and raced out towards the playground where the three boys were. Hopefully they all liked each other. We forced these four kids to play together all the time. Now I know how my dad and Chase's dad felt when we were little. "Chase and I were going to-"

"Go see your little sister, yeah, yeah." Leo interrupted as he waved his hands in my direction. I shook my head and took a seat on the long bench where Adam and Chase were sitting.

"Thanks, pal." I muttered as Chase let his right arm rest around my shoulders. Adam sent me a smile before he looked out to watch as the four took over the swing set. Luckily there were four swings. We didn't need a swing incident.

"Do they hate each other?" Adam questioned as he narrowed his eyes at the four.

"I was literally wondering the same thing." I laughed, getting a nod from Chase.

"They've never said otherwise-"

"Guys!" Leo cut Chase off with a whine as he pulled out a few packets of paper. I frowned and held out my hand, taking one of the papers from him.

"What's this?" I questioned as I looked over the packet, Adam and Chase getting one along with me.

"No time for questions, just read." Leo shook his head. Our weird, now packet-less friend, stood staring at us as we opened up the packets, all of us ignoring the title on the front. "Now keep in mind, this is just the first draft." Leo reminded as he watched me flip through it quickly. I could feel a frown taking form on my face.

"Leo, you wrote an entire short story." I scoffed as I glanced over the first page a second time. I could vaguely see Leo nod out of the corner of my eye.

"Exactly. This is the first draft to my short story." Leo repeated as he crossed his arms over his chest. I laughed and looked over to Adam and Chase. Adam had fully pulled out his 'reading glasses' as he began to read over the story. He liked to think that he still had good eyesight. I always get back by asking if he'll drive us somewhere... Caitlyn has fully taken over the car keys.

"Keep up, Bree." Adam muttered absentmindedly as he scanned. Chase chuckled before getting a glare from me.

"Get normal glasses, Adam. You can't see half the time." I shot back, feeling Chase reach out and grab onto my hand. I smiled as I picked up the packet with my other hand, slightly glancing over to Aura I did. She and the boys had made their way to the sandbox.
