Twin Angels and Women in Black - Part 2

"I'm still in love with you, Bree." He got out nervously, his palms shaking against my hands as we stood. He was still completely nervous, despite the fact that he had finally told me everything. Now, he was just waiting for my reaction. I didn't even know what had just happened.

But I did.

He loved me.

I could feel the air leave my lungs as the words finally hit me. He was still in love with me. After everything, he still had buried feelings for me, and I definitely had no idea how to handle it.

"What?" I asked, immediately feeling stupid right after I had said it. How inconsiderate am I?

I could surely say that I didn't have feelings for him, but I didn't want to crush him with Chase and Rebecca standing right behind us. Especially with Chase right there. The one I actually did love.

"No." Chase said as he shook his head, swiftly making his way over to my side. "No, no. You can't still be in love with her." He affirmed. I could feel my hands being quickly ripped away from him as Chase pulled the two of us apart. Chase's face was slowly growing more red with the anger.

"Chase stop." I muttered, hoping he could quit before I was able to get him away from this. What was he doing? He was about to make a fool out of himself.

"No I won't stop, Bree." He snipped back as he crossed his arms over his chest. I bit into my lip to keep from talking. For some reason, he had made this into his fight. "You can't just tell her that you love her." Chase started, growing more uneasy as he spoke. "Better yet, you can't just tell my wife, that you're in love with her." He shook his head.

"Why can't I?" He asked stubbornly as he shoved his hands deep into his pockets. "If I feel something for her, she has the right to know."

"Not when she's still married." Chase bit back, taking an intimidating step forward as he continued to glare him down. "Not when she's still married to me."

"But you asked her for a divorce." He pointed out, a small shimmer growing in his eyes as he thought he had pushed Chase into a corner. "You're the one that ended things. Remember?" Chase shook his head quickly.

"No. I said that we should see other people. I never said we should end things."

"Chase that's the same thing." I interrupted, feeling at the end of my rope. Who did this kid think he was? Chase sent a stern look to me at that.

"No it's not!" He whined. I rolled my eyes.

"Chase." I started. "When asking that we see other people, that meant that we were breaking up. Thus, the divorce." I explained, trying to simplify it for him. I knew he already understood it, but part of me still wanted to embarrass him.

"One, we're still married. And two, I never asked for a divorce, I asked to see other people." I groaned as I threw my head back.

"Chase-"

"Bree-"

"Chase!"

"Bree!"

"Both of you!" He interrupted, stopping our little showdown for a second. I had half forgotten he was here. "Either way, you're not together any more." I could feel my own heart drop down to my stomach at his words. Chase shook his head.
