What Kind of Wedding Is This?!
━━━━━━━━━
I shook my head as I paced back and forth about the small room they had forced us into. There was a big bathroom at my side, and a large window on the other, but spaces like this made me feel claustrophobic. Did I ever mention how stressful the day of other people's weddings were? I hope mine won't be this bad. No wonder Chase and I eloped.
I had gotten changed upstairs before I came down, and so did Kim. She was still racing around with Jack trying to put the finishing touches on everything having to do with the reception outside. How they got roped into doing that, I'll never know. But I was quite happy to say Caitlyn had made the decision for us to wear the shorter red dresses rather than the long ones. It was hot today. The hotel employees were also finishing up the ceremony area on the beach. Then there was Chase and Leo helping Adam get ready. I didn't even know what he was wearing. What I did know was Jannel and Caitlyn were taking way too long in the bathroom.
"Come on, you guys." I called again through the door. I was insanely confused as to why they didn't put on their outfits upstairs. Caitlyn was a little more understandable since she couldn't have Adam seeing her in the dress, but still. "The wedding starts in like, fifteen minutes." I rolled my eyes as I heard something hit the floor. Classy.
"We dropped something." Jannel choked out, only making me more concerned.
"I heard that." I laughed lightly as I reached for the door handle. "Can I come back in-"
"No!" They both interrupted me in synch. I held up my hands in defense, despite the fact that no one could see me.
"Well, do you guys need anything?" I tried once more. It seemed like something serious was going on in there. I hadn't been inside for more than five minutes before they were telling me to make Jack and Kim finish up the dinning area. "I could get you some water..." I left off, not really knowing where I was going with this.
"We'll be fine." Caitlyn called back, the two growing insanely quiet as I stood alone in the room once again. How was I always getting left out of things like this? In this situation, I wasn't so sure that I wanted to be involved, but still. The two had seemed fine just twenty minutes ago.
I shook my head as I walked over to the window, watching as the employees finished up the ceremony venue. The chairs looked like they were a darkly painted bamboo with white cushions. Then there were little red bouquets all over. The alter was set up over by the water. This would be amazing. It looked absolutely stunning out there.
"Are they done yet." Leo whined as he and Chase made their way inside, closing the door behind them. We couldn't have Adam seeing Caitlyn today. Or right now, at least. If she ever came out of the bathroom.
"No." I huffed, leaning back against the window across the room from them. "They won't come out of the bathroom, and now they won't let me in." Leo nodded as he pushed his hands into his pockets, Chase joined me at my side. I smiled to him as he grabbed onto my hand.
"Do you know why they're in there?" Leo teased as he made his way over, standing on my other side as we all watched the door, waiting for it to miraculously open.
"No." I laughed lightly. Remind me again why I agreed to be the maid of honor? At this rate, I was asking Kim to be mine.
"Then how do we know what's really going on?" Leo asked intensely as he spun around to face us directly. "They could be trying to escape through the window!" He announced with wide eyes. I bit into my lip to keep from laughing as Chase and I looked to him.
