Breakfast With The Deans

"It shouldn't be that bad." I urged Chase as I pinned my bangs back, pulling my hair over my right shoulder. He stood in the doorway, pouting as he kicked his left foot back and forth. His arms were crossed over his chest as he continued his pout.

"Actually, it will. It's like they've been planning on us getting together since the second we were born. Why else would they ask us to breakfast other than to check in on our relationship?" Chase whined before letting his gaze fall back to the ground. The two of us fell silent as I pinned an earring into my left ear, seeing him look up out of the corner of my eye. "You didn't tell anyone about us, right?" He asked warily. I sighed before picking up the earring for my right ear, turning to face him. He instantly knew I had told someone.

"I told Amy. But she said she wouldn't say anything." I defended as I played with the back of my earring, trying to get it to stay in.

"Well..." Chase left off as he pushed off the doorframe, walking over to me as he did so. "You just told her we were back together, right? You didn't tell her..." I shook my head, stopping him before he could go any further.

"No." I said, knowing I would be dead if I had told anyone. Someone would have literally ran down our door. "We both agreed not to tell anyone. The only thing I told her was that you and I were back together, and we weren't telling anyone because we were just testing our relationship after what happened last year." I rambled before reaching over and pulling on another necklace, covering the chain holding my mother's ring. He nodded surely and walked over to me, placing his hands on my hips and resting his chin on my left shoulder as I clipped the necklace into place. It was the one Chase had given me on our first date.

"You know we never did anything for our two year anniversary." He reminded quietly against my cheek. I smiled at the thought of the two of us, sneaking away where no one knew us. Where we could finally be together in that way. In the way we both knew we should be. Although being best friends with Chase for the past... Almost eighteen years? How in the world did that happen?

"It sounds amazing just to know that we're together again." I whispered back, feeling for the moment so content with everything in my life. It had been so weird when Chase was gone for all those months. Especially since we were broken up. I would like to assume that it would be better if we had been together, but I'll never know. Or I hope that I won't.

"Agreed." Chase breathed with a smile before I could see his eyes open once more. "How would you feel about going to New York? Just the two of us?" He asked, the hope all so evident in his voice. I could feel the happy butterflies flutter in my stomach at just the thought of that. I never could have guessed the two of us would have actually gone through with a trip alone. But that sounded... Like a freaking dream.

"Seriously?" I asked as I spun around, a bright smile taking over my face as I rested my hands on his shoulders.

"Yeah, seriously. Don't spoil it for them but our dad's wanted me to go and check up on the motel this next weekend. They were originally going to come but I doubt that now since they just took over the university for good." Chase said, leaving me to imagine what it would be like when we were up there. That would be great. I love the guys and Jannel and Caitlyn... And my dad, but it would be great to be alone with Chase for the first time since we got back together.

"No questions, no doubts. I want to go with you." I replied before pulling him into a hug. He laughed lightly into my shoulder as he held me tighter, ms loving that we were back to that place. "I love-" I was interrupted by my phone buzzing on my drawer. I rolled my eyes and spun out of Chase's hold, grabbing onto my phone to see my dad was calling.
