"The silver one's not for you." I could feel my left eyebrow raise in suspicion as he nodded his head.
"That little silver one." He started as he leaned in once more. "Is for your baby sister." I could feel my chest stop moving with his words. I was going to be a big sister?
"Amy's pregnant?" I asked warily, feeling a small smile hit my face. At least it wasn't a little brother. I had already lived the majority of my life with boys . I needed another girl in here with me. "I'm going to be a big sister? At twenty five..." I left off, letting it hit me. How was I that old already?!
"Amy found out a little while ago, but she didn't want to say anything until she was sure she was past the first trimester. We have the ultrasound, but I think you can wait to see it until later." My dad brushed off as he quickly stood up from his seat. I frowned and rose from my chair, taking a step back from the table as he held out a piece of paper for me.
"Why can't I see it now?" I asked, taking the paper from him and looking it over. "This is the address to the lake." My eyebrows furrowed as I looked it over. "It's the same address as to the waterfall." My dad nodded slowly before he reached out and pushed me gently towards the house.
"Exactly." He laughed. "Part two of the surprise. You can take my car."
I narrowed my eyes as I walked further down the path, leaving my dad's car parked up on the road behind me. There was a section of the road that I had never really been to. From the looks of it, some house developers were building towards the other end of the street. Originally, our dad's were the only one's who were supposed to live down on this street. Then, the annoying neighbors started to build right next to us. But now, people were building down on this end, too. They were going to completely ruin the waterfall spot with all the building. This sucked.
I shook my head as I walked further down the path, making my way past the waterfall and around the back of it to the lake. Chase and I were the only ones who knew where this spot was. Even our dad's were confused as to where we had been half the time when we were younger. We always came down here when we were bored. The lake was set directly behind the waterfall, there was a small, tattered dock back near the lake. I made my way around the large rock that held the waterfall, running right into someone as I did.
"Woah." I jumped back, smiling as my eyes met Chase's. "I kind of figured it would be you back here." He laughed and held out his hand. There was a freaking bandana in his hand. "Why is it's everyone's goal to surprise me today?" I asked as Chase took a single step towards me, him wrapping the bandana around my head to cover my eyes.
