Chapter 21
~Eliana's P.O.V.~
We had stopped again, it was about noon, we have been traveling for about three more days. We had rested on a mountain, where the rocky terrain would prove good in times of reffuge. Gandalf was speaking with Gimli about where to go, and I sat still watching Boromir teaching Merry and Pippin how to sword fight. Aragorn also watched as he smoked his pipe. Sam was tending to a meal along with frodo and I saw Legolas sitting by himself.
"If anyone was to ask for my opinion which I note they're not I'd say we were taking the long way round Gandalf! We could pass through the Mines of Moria...My cousin Balin would give us a royal welcome" I could hear Gimli's loud voice boom over the mountain.
My body froze when I heard Gimli say to go through the Mines of Moria.
"No Gimli I would not take the road through Moria unless I had no other choice" Gandalf said.
I sighed with relief and went to sit beside Legolas, w'ho was just watching as Boromir was tackled by merry and Pippin. Aragorn tried to seperate them but he only managed to fall on his back, laughing along with the others.
"May I join you?" I asked lightly.
"If you would like then yes you may" Legolas answered cooly.
I smiled once and sat beside Legolas who had a peaceful smile playing along his lips.
"What are you smiling for?" I asked
"Boromir is getting alone quite well with the hobbits...don't you think?" Legolas asked changing the subject.
"Do not change the subject...tell me why is it that you are smiling?" I asked again.
Legolas smiled again and looked at me. "I looked over at you and noticed that you look beautiful standing in the sunlight...that is why I was smiling fo-" Legolas was cut off.
"What is that?" Sam said as he looked towards the clouds.
Legolas immediatly stood up and quickly looked up towards the clouds.
"Nothing it's just a wisp of cloud" Gimli stated.
"It's moving fast...against the wind" Boromir said a bit out of breath.
I watched as Legolas looked intently at the moving flecks of grey in the sky, then his eyes widened with realization.
"Crebain from Duneland!"Legolas yelled
"HIDE!" Aragorn screamed and suddenly everyone ran around quickly gathering their things and ran. I ran to quickly put out the fire. I felt someone grab my hand and pull me away under a a thick bush. Then quickly a giant flock of black birds flew around searching for something. I felt a pair of arms tightly wrap around my waist and I turned my head slightly to see Boromir holding me closly.
"Shh...be still" He whispered quietly in my ear.
I did not move at all. Once the flock of birds vanished back into the skies I forced Boromir's hands from around my waist.
"Never touch me again..." I hissed angrily into his ear before i got up from my hiding spot. "But thank you" I called back to him
I made my way to Gandalf and the others, I stood beside Legolas who was watching Boromir intently.
"Spies os Saruman" Gandalf said gravely.
"The Passage south is being watched" I said lightly and everyone's eye's were on my.
"We must take the pass of Caradhras" Gandalf said next and my heart dropped.
I quickly took ahold of Legolas's hand tightly.
"Gandalf...are you sure we should take that pass?" I asked Gandalf.
"It is our only choice Eliana...we must go" Gandalf stated.
"Why? How can you possible say that it is our only choice? The pass of Caradhras is dangerous...it is a snowy doom the hobbits and the humans couldn't possibly survive!" I shouted.
I felt Legolas place his hand around my waist. "Eliana...it is our only choice" Legolas said calmly.
I sighed lightly and agreed to it, we were now going through our new course for the pass or Caradhras
