Yeah so I used to ship this a lot, and then decided I didn't really like it, so it's been a roller coaster. But now?

It's extremely cute and although they didn't interact that much during the series, I could see them as a couple. Before you yell at me, yes, I actually do think they're compatible and am not just shipping them because I dislike Ron (I prefer Ron over Fred, honestly). Fred is very clever, which Hermione knows from his joke products, and very carefree. Although this annoys her, it would also help her to relax and stop being so uptight. He's less jealous and possessive than Ron, which I think is great for Hermione, and she wouldn't have to baby him as much since he's so independent. Their banter is fantastic and they clearly get along well. I will say that I think she'd be even more suited to George since he's a little bit more mature and quiet, but eh, either way, it's cute.

I don't think their oaths would align, however, and I can't see Hermione choosing him over Ron. While Hermione would appreciate all of the above traits, I don't think she'd care for what she probably considers to be Fred's arrogance. He's insensitive, flippant, and often outright cruel.

Also though, I hate how Fred x Hermione fanfics portray Ron, Ginny, and Molly. Ron is usually portrayed as an abusive or cheating mole who Hermione must be "rescued" from by Fred. One, Ron can be a twat but he's never abused anyone and there is no reason to think he would. Two, he's actually very loyal, so I can't see him cheating. Yes, he ditched Harry and Hermione in the Deathly Hallows, but the conditions were quite severe and he was starving, so cut him some slack. He's never shown any other sign of disloyalty. That's not to say that you can't write a good Ron-cheating fic, but please keep him in character and don't, for the love of everything, make him abusive. Three, Hermione is not a damsel in distress that would need rescuing. She can handle herself.

Ginny and Molly are always portrayed as either hating on Hermione for dumping Ron to be with Fred, or the complete opposite. People are nuanced, and I highly doubt either of these would happen. Yes, of course they would be wary of Hermione breaking Ron's heart and then jumping to another brother, but they are also forgiving and would likely get over it, though Molly may take a lot longer out of respect for Ron. Please don't make them all hate each other because Ginny would never hate Ron for cheating on or being rude to Hermione — they're siblings, after all. That doesn't mean that she wouldn't give him a whooping on the ass, though. Her and Molly, really.

Despite all this, it's still not that great a ship. I wouldn't go to battle for it, despite what y'all may think. It could go either way, but I can't say I ship it. Anyway, sorry for the length and I'll go onto my rating.
