"Ms. Katelyn will be alright...."

A breath of relief.

"But she is in a comatose state, and may not wake up..."

Silence.

May not wake up, not wake up, wake up...

(WAAAAAAAAKE ME UP INSIDE- I just ruined it, didn't I 😅)

Aphmau sat in the hospital, words ringing like bells in her head, chiming back and forth, back and forth.

In her trembling hands clutched Sky's hat.

She would have to return it later.

For now, she had bigger matters staining her palms.

She only remembered the sirens, the police, the blood, the screaming and shouting, faces blurring and flashing by like old photographs.

Kawaii~Chan, her eyes filled with worry and fear, ears down and tail fluffed down in a sadness.

Travis, nearly breaking down and crying.

Dante, Garroth, Aaron, in a state of pure shock and trying to comfort the white haired boy.

Lucinda wiping black mascara tears from her face, crying silently but holding firm to not completely collapse.

And Aphmau, staring into blank space, on the verge of tearing herself into shreds.

She was stupid.

Stupid.

So stupid, even stupid called her stupider. (Great, first Schule, now Stewpid.)

"W...What happened?" Travis quivered as he spoke up.

Aphmau honestly couldn't blame him for stuttering.

As independent and strong Travis acted to be, he really was just one big huggable teddy bear that needed comfort to stand.

Just like Katelyn...

"The investigation is being performed by police and professional investigators. While we do not know the full details, it seems that Ms. Katelyn suffered a severe hit to the head. No eyewitnesses were account during the time of her possible attack or accident, and the security cameras were mysteriously shut down that night. Any data of that day is erased completely." The doctor apologized, brown eyes twinkling with a kind pity. The pity that was known not to be given, but still showed.

"I swear, if someone did this to her-"

Blocking out any means of listening with her ears, Aphmau already knew what had happened.

If only she'd been there.

If only she could do it...

...

Maybe the voice was right.

Maybe there really was nothing Aphmau could do to stop this madness.

***

Aphmau left the hospital shortly after the nerve wracking news was delivered.

Heading to the guys house, she knocked on the door and hastily left, dropping the hat at the door mat before fleeing.

Several calls and messages buzzed her phone but with a simple push of a button, it was silenced.

Aphmau knew it was unhealthy to go wandering out so late without sleep, especially almost two days in a row, but being in the hospital all day had sickened her.
