Satiel regretted everything.

Okay, backtrack a bit perhaps.

Backtrack a lot actually.

Rewind.

Okay so, after Aphmau's rather horrifying speech, Satiel had immediently contacted her other friends.

Something weird had happened, and he planned on finding out what.

Specifically the dude named Aaron.

Something about him gave off sort of a safe vibe, and he also had seemed quite respectful during this entire dilemma.

That was something he could respect.

And...he'd been there for Jess when they hadn't been able to be.

During the many catching up conversations, short as they may be, Aphmau had mentioned Aaron as perhaps one if the closest friends since the bonding between him and the others.

That made him happy, knowing she was in good hands like that.

"Ummm, hello?" Aaron seemed confused. "Satiel...right?"

Satiel nodded. "Listen I can't really stay for long but I really gotta talk to you."

The conversation had ended well...at least, that's what Satiel thought.

"Look, Aphmau's been acting kinda off since a few hours ago, and I'm not blaming ya or anything, but basically she's planning on murdering her psychopath father."

Aaron's was twisted through a sandstorm of different emotions.

"What?!"

"It's long story short here buddy."

"That doesn't sound like Aph." Aaron voiced Satiel's matching confusion.

"I know, and it's not normal, point is, it wouldn't be okay for us to just leave you in the dark like this. Aphmau trusts you with her secrets, and I'm sure she would now."

Aaron blinked. "I'm all ears."

"See? You're a good person!" Satiel reached over and gave him a pat on the back. "I can see why Aph likes you!"

The conversation continued, remarkably with no stumbles.

"What I need you to do-" Satiel pointed at him. "Is help with this evacuation plan."

"Hold up-" Aaron held both hands up in a 'stop' motion. "I thought Aph told you guys that the plan wasn't needed."

"Aph's not herself, and I'm worried. The others are willing to follow her, not blindly perhaps, but they trust her."

"And you don't?" Aaron's voice wasn't challenging, but more questioning.

"I do, but she's not herself. I don't know what's up, but I need to figure this out on my own. Too many people in the case will cause suspicion."

"So, you're going behind her back?"

"Wouldn't you if you were in this position? Don't tell me you haven't done so before."

Aaron didn't meet his gaze. Okay, maybe he didn't understand it as well as Satiel had hoped he would, but a brief minute later he nodded.

"What can we do to help?"

"That's the spirit bud!" Satiel chuckled. "Here's the plan-"

Looking back on that discussion, Satiel wished he could've expanded more on the plan.
