Chapter 68: Confidence Only Grows

"Aph, think this through." Jin said, catching her eyes. "We need to play it safe."

"Don't you get it?" Aphmau grabbed him and stared him right in the eyes, glowing with energy. "We've been playing safe this entire time and it's been getting us nowhere-"

"I could disagree-" Jin began but was cut off by Aphmau babbling.

"-and I won't stand for it anymore! We need to take action, right now!"

"Uhhh...Jess?" Max seeemed a little freaked out. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Very." Aphmau nodded. 

"Alright then." Max hollered. "EVERYBODY GET YOUR BUTTS IN HERE BEFORE I DECIDE TO GO OVER THERE MYSELF AND DRAG YOU HERE!" Though 'butts' wasn't exactly what he'd said. (Geez Max, keep it PG)

Sky burst into the room. "I HEARD THE EMPEROR SPEAK!"

"Empress to you!" Aphmau snaps, posing. "Get your pronouns right!"

"I am sorry m'lady." Sky mocked, bowing. "Please do continue your meeting."

"Everybody here?" 

One by one, everybody filed through.

"So." Jess presented herself to the group. "I have a plan."

"Oh dear god, no." Max whispered.

She slapped him. (Not that hard, just a small pat to the cheek)

"Shut up fair peasant."

"Continue." Satiel seemed genuine interested.

"Old buddy." She scooted over to him. "I knew I could count on you!"

"And the plan?" Satiel asked.

"Stop Vincent."

"You make it sound so easy." Satiel snorted.

"Well, here's the thing."

Aphmau got up, unable to stay still, and paced.

"Did Jin tell you guys about the bomb?"

"What bomb?" Ross asked.

"The candlesticks." Sky explained.

"Oh, I thought that was TNT?" Ross seemed confused.

"They are dummy!" 

"Oh."

"AHEM!" Aphmau was shooting them a devil eye.

"Sorry mom." 

"Anyways, now that you guys know..." Aphmau clapped both hands together like a peppy business woman. "I know I've been rather on a safeguard when it comes to these sorts of things."

"Can't blame ya-" Sly had magically summoned a bad of Toritos (in which Castor was stealing from) and was munching on them. "It's our lives at stake we're talking about."

"But!" Aphmau stared him in the eyes. "Playing safe is something we gotta throw off the table!"

"Really?!" Sky jumped up. "HE** YES!"

"THERE ARE CHILDREN!!!" Aphmau screeched, tackling him.

"I'MSOSORRY-"

*A few moments later 

"We've been needing a new plan of action for quite some time now." Castor said after Aphmau did a dramatic retelling of the kitchen conversation.

"Yeah Jess, you kinda suck at planning, no offense." Sly shrugged when she turned her head slowly toward him. "Don't deny the truth."
