Shidge
Pirate-y AU
Straight people smut(you have been warned)

Pidge felt completely unworthy of being on the same ship as Captain Shiro. He was scared and haunted, but he was kind and looked out for his crew.

He was tall and thick with muscle. His hair was raven black and snowy white, his eyes a mix of both. His skin was shades darker than her own and his single flesh hand could practically engulf both her much smaller hands. Almost, but not quite. He was active and smiled at everyone whereas she was closed in and worked on her projects rather than talk to people.

The rest of her crew were ridiculous. Lance was loud and cheery, but missed home. He was the crew shooter. Hunk was the cook and the team's ray of sunshine everyone went to to talk or for comfort. Keith was the swordsman and pretty angsty.

Then Allura... A beautiful, strong woman. Won't take anyone's shit, kind, knows how to fend for herself. She's the kind of woman Pidge wished she could be.

Then Coran. Just... No explanation could do that man justice.

And Pidge. Small, too smart for anyone's good, snappy, and pushy. Sometimes she felt like the only reason Shiro was kind to her was because he's best friends with her father and brother that disappeared with him.

Pidge sat on the edge of the ship, watching the dark water flow beneath her dangling feet. Lance was the only other one awake, keeping a sharp eye out for any approaching or distant ship. She sighed, slumped.

"Hey, Pidgey? You okay? You look more gloomy than usual." Lance hummed leaning over the edge of the ship to look at her.

She huffed. "Just thinking. I don't have the supplies for my projects."

Lance snorted and gently nudged her. "Come on, don't lie to me. That's not at all what you were thinking about."

Damn, she hated his sharp senses. "... Yeah. It's not... I was thinking about the whole crew."

The taller man hummed, resting his chin on her shoulder. Pidge didn't brother to whack him or push him off. "Me too. We've all become kind of like a family, huh?"

Pidge smiled, tilting her head back to rest on his shoulder. "We have, I suppose. But I think you and Keith need to get rid of that damn sexual tension."

Lance puffed, pinching her side. Pidge giggled. "There is no sexual tension, Pidge. If there is any sexual tension on this ship, it's Allura and Shiro." Pidge flinched, but not enough for Lance to notice. Lance looked off at the starry sky. "Now they have some sexual tension if they're not already banging in the captain's cabin."

"Right..." Pidge breathed, biting her lip. "Probably."

"You should head to bed." Lance hummed and stood straight. He helped her back onto the ship. "We're headed to town tomorrow, so you should be rested." Pidge nodded, gaze down cast. "Get some sleep, Pidge."

The next night, Shiro was restless. Pidge could hear him mumbling and she occationally peeked through the crack in the door.

"If you're so worried about him, go in there." Keith grumbled. Pidge glared up at him as he pushed her towards the captain's cabin. "Go."

"I hate it so much that I fucking told you about this." She hissed under her breath.

Keith smirked, folding his arms over his chest. "At least you told me instead of Lance."

"... That's true..." Pidge whined and shuffled to the door. She knocked and the mumbling stopped. "Shiro? Is everything okay?"
