(I've recently watched too much Criminal Minds)

Keith sighed, his pen clicking. He had nothing... Absolutely nothing on this damn asshole that's been dropping bodies for the past year. Twelve innocent people murdered in their own home. All by the same person. Keith was set as head of this investigation, and he still had nothing on who in the world this serial killer could be.

So, Keith finally gathered his nerve, and called the FBI for help on this case.

At any minute they should be arriving.

"So, I hear from Nancy that you have an old buddy in the FBI BAU?" The officer beside him muses as he leans over. Keith shrugs and leans back. "Well? Is it true? If it is, you've never told me."

Keith shrugged again. "So what if I do? Besides, we don't even talk anymore. I haven't seen or heard from him in two years."

The officer beside him sniggered. "Think he'll be on of the men coming down?"

"Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. I never told them my name, so he may be more willing to come than if I had said my name." Keith grumbled, and the officer beside him blinked owlishly.

"As, man, this guy hates you? What happened?"

"Kevin, it's personal." Keith grumbled as he stood up. He pulled his hair back into a ponytail. "I'd rather not tell."

Kevin sighed, then shrugged. "Worth a shot. Man, I just wanted to get to know my buddy better."

Keith shook his head. "I just don't like who I was before I came down here, buddy. It's not something I like to talk about. Now, if you don't mind, when the agents get here, have them head to the most recent scene? I'll be there."

"Do you want me to mention your name?" Kevin snorted and Keith rolled his eyes as he grabbed his jacket. "See which one gets all angry and pissy, grabs me by the collar and screams in my face, demanding I repeat the name I've just mentioned?"

"You do that. Have fun." Keith gave a short wave over his shoulder, then left a cackling officer behind.

"Why did you tell Kevin that I know someone from the FBI?" Keith grumbled as he approached Nancy at the scene of a murder that happened just the day previous.

Nancy sighed. "It was a slip-up, sweetie. Just be glad I didn't mention the boy's name." Keith smiled and rolled his eyes. "So how are you, butter-beans? I haven't seen you all week."

Keith huffed. "That's because you went on vacation with three little demons and the devil."

The woman laughed. "You mean my beautiful little children and my darling husband?"

"If that's what you want to call them."

Nancy giggled, then pat his shoulder. "How can you expect to have a family someday if all you see are little red horns and a forked tail, butter-beans?"

"You of all people should know that I'm gay and unable to get pregnant or impregnate my spouse."

"But gay men adopt, sweetie." Nancy giggled, then glanced over her shoulder. "Big men are here. You wanna talk to them?"
