Lanlura
Altean!LanceLance jolted awake, tearing off his eye mask and the head phones. He gasped and sat up, cold sweat dripping down his back and dotting his forehead. "Quiznak... Quiznak..." Lance trembled as he tried pushing himself out of the bed. He grasped the fabric over his pounding heart, his wide, wild eyes searching the dark room.
The blue paladin gulped and sucked in deep breaths. He got rid of his sleepwear and changed into his regular clothes. Lance rubbed his face and washed it off, then exited his room.
Lance stumbled in the darkness, the castle still in night-mode. He panted softly, hand on the wall for support.
Finally, he made it to the command center and collapsed in his designated seat. Lance sighed and sunk into the seat. His eyes fluttered shut at the soft, wirring sounds of the castle calming his pounding heart.
"Lance?"
The blue paladin yelped and failed at the sudden voice, his heart lurching and stomach dropping. Lance fell to the floor, then leapt to his feet. "Allura! What are you doing awake so late?" Lance gulped and breathed deeply to calm himself down.
Allura cautiously approached him. "I couldn't sleep. Why are you awake?"
Lance bit his lip and looked away. "I had... A strange dream... It woke me up and kinda scared me."
The princess hummed as she came to a stop just in front of him. "About your family?" Lance shook his head. "Zarkon?"
"Kind of." Lance scratched the back,of his neck. "It was a battle, but... It was different... I don't remember this battle. I heard voices I didn't recognize while I piloted Blue and fought the Galra. The ships we were attacking looked different, too. A little more outdated."
Allura nodded. "Maybe you're experiencing a memory from the last blue paladin. I wouldn't be surprised if Blue was accidentally transferring past memories to you over your bond."
Lance sighed, lowering his head. "Maybe... I don't know, it just felt so real... Like I was actually piloting her and fighting and... My heart was racing and I could hear the ringing while people shouted and screamed... Even your father was in it."
"Oh..." Allura glanced away, closing her eyes. "My... Father was very close to his paladins..."
"What about you?" Both looked up to meet each other's gaze. "Were you close to the paladins?"
Allura blinked, then nodded with a soft smile. "Yes... I was... Would you like me to tell you about them?"
Lance smiled and nodded. "Yeah... Wanna walk around the castle while we do?" He offered his arm and she graciously took it. Allura nodded, and they exited the command center while she began going over her memories with the past paladins.

"- and one time, Lash had hid the Lymphs in Zarkon's bed! Zarkon was absolutely furious the next day, and could not stop scratching himself!"
Lance and Allura laughed softly. "Lash sounds like a cool guy."
Allura hummed and nodded. "He was... He used to take me for rides in the blue lion and he'd let me, as you say, prank the others with him. Lash was always smiling and he was always there for me... I just wish I could have seen him one last time."
Lance looked down. "What about the others?"
The princess smiled. "Bordock, Amtha and Listia were also wonderful paladins, but Lash... We had a stronger bond than the others. He protected me, made me smile, wiped away my tears... Lash was my greatest friend aside from my father."
