Keith couldn't help but think he wasn't good enough.
Shiro was so kind and wonderful. He was so brave and strong and was such a leader.
Keith was nothing like him. He wasn't good enough to be this man's boyfriend.
He didn't remember really how they got together. Just that there was lots of joyful... Noises coming from Pidge and Allura when Shiro first kissed Keith. Keith was confused and kind of dazzled, but they've been together since.
Shiro liked to cuddle in his sleep - when he managed to sleep. Keith liked Shiro's arms wrapped securely around him while they slept.
Just like right now.
Keith's eyes were just closed, but Shiro was deep in his sleep. Shiro's arms were wrapped snugly around Keith's waist, face buried in Keith's chest. Their legs tangled together with the sheets. Keith raked his fingers through Shiro's hair.
Shiro has been sleeping better. Fewer nightmares and falling asleep quicker. He still wakes up hours before everyone else, though.
The older paladin hummed and shifted, then gave Keith a squeeze. "I fell asleep..." He breathed out.
Keith smiled. "I know."
"How long?"
"Just half-an-hour."
Shiro sighed, then pressed his lips to Keith's chest.
The red paladin laughed softly. "Too lazy to get up here and give me a real kiss?" He teased.
Shiro nodded with a groan. Keith chuckled and twirled the white locks around his fingers. "... These past few days have been pretty relaxed..." Shiro muttered. Keith nodded. "It almost worries me."
"Yeah... I feel the same way." Keith agreed, shifting just slightly. Keith's bare legs curled around one of Shiro's legs. "But everyone else is enjoying the break. It's not often the Galra give us a break." Shiro smiled, rubbing circles into Keith's hip with his thumb.
"We'll give it to them. They deserve it."
"We all do." Keith corrected with a kiss to Shiro's forehead. "We all deserve a break, Shiro."
"Yeah." Shiro nodded, shuffling up to press his lips to Keith's. Keith smiled into the kiss. "Love you."
"I love you, too."
