Svance
Oh, look!
I'm finally doing a different couple!
This takes place in that AU in season three with SvenSven has always been jealous of his cousin, Shiro. He's just never voiced it. He was afraid if he did, people would be angry with him. Afraid his family would be angry with him.
So, he pushed his thoughts aside and stuck by Shiro's side. He was happy for Shiro, but Shiro always got what Sven wanted. No matter what it was.
Scholarships into the Garrison. Girls. Hell, even guys. The classes, the ranks, the friends...
Sven knew Shiro didn't intentionally take these things. They just were set in his way and he didn't even know Sven wanted them.
Sven was just hella grateful to get into the Garrison.
But, he thought this was going to finally be different.
He thought he finally had something. He had some-one.
Lance.
Lance was flirtatious, a jokster, kind of a jerk, but was sweet and kind and had the nicest smile. He was tall and strong, dark skin and dark eyes, slicked back, dark hair. He was honest.
And Sven loved Lance.
Sven loved everything about him since the moment they met in person.
~
Sven admired Lance from afar. He was the star of the Garrison. Teachers and students alike all loved him.
Lance was basically his hero. He was amazing. He broke records, he aced every test and exam.
The young pilot wished he could be as good as Lance one day. Or even as good as Shiro- second to Lance.
Sven gasped and jumped, snapped out of his daze as a hand clapped on his shoulder and a shadow cast over him. He snapped his head up, eyes wide.
Once he saw that bright, toothy grin and sparkly, navy blue eyes, a deep blush blew up Sven's cheeks.
"You're Sven, right?" Lance asked, pulling out the seat beside Sven. The younger pilot gulped and slowly nodded. If possible, Lance's grin widened. "You're great! You've improved so much over the past year!" He winked and it sent Sven's heart racing within his ribcage. "Keep up the good work! I can't wait to race with you someday!"
Sven gulped, then nodded and tried a smile. It felt shaky and was definitely strained. "Y-yeah... That sounds great..."
Lance laughed and ruffled Sven's raven hair. "Hey, you free tonight?" Sven blinked, then nodded. Lance fixed Sven's hair. At this point, Sven was so completely red and his heart beat so erratically, it hurt. "Awesome. I'll pick you up after school and treat you to dinner."
~
Sven fidgeted nervously in the passenger seat of Lance's car. Lance hummed as he drove, an absent-minded smile on his lips, his hand placed on Sven's thigh.
The younger pilot's heart really went nuts with Lance started gently rubbing up and down with his thumb.
"I've had my eye on you for a good while, you know?" Lance mused as he pulled into the parking lot for a fancy restaurant. Sven looked over at Lance, blinking. The older pilot laughed softly and Sven's heart melted at the lovely sound.
"It's true." Lance parked, turned off the car, then turned to Sven. "You're a great pilot. You're incredibly talented and very smart. You'd make an amazing asset." Sven's blush burned his face, but he some how managed to stare into Lance's deep blue eyes.
