The castle was silent aside from the occational set of footsteps or the soft whispers.

Shiro sighed softly as he made his way through the grand hallways, lit by the blue flames within the floating orbs and the orange sunrise. His betrothed was supposed to meet him in the glorious throne room with the Green Knight, but they were in the Princess' room. Why another man was in his betrothed's room was beyond him, but he wasn't anxious. He didn't even care when the thought of infidelity crossed his mind. Shiro just didn't truly love Allura as he should.

Finally, the decorated knight came to his destination and knocked. He was more curious to meet the man the wise green lion had chosen as her master than he was excited to see his betrothed. Shiro cleared his throat and rapped his knuckles on the mahogany door. "Princess?"

There was a soft giggle on the other side of the door. "That must be my Black Knight."

"You know I'm curious to meet him! Grant him entrance!"

Shiro shook his head, a soft smile on his lips. That must be the girl he often sees with Allura in the gardens and in the castle. He's never heard her speak before and he's never clearly seen her face, but her voice was smooth and chimed like little bells. Her voice somehow calmed him and intrigued him. But, where was the man chosen to be the Green Knight?

"You may come in!" Allura called.

The man hummed and pushed open the slightly heavy door. "Allura, my love." Shiro held out his arms and she fell into them. Allura smiled and pressed her lips to his cheek. "I was disappointed you didn't come to greet me."

Allura giggled. "Terribly sorry, darling. I lost track of time with Pidge!"

So that's the young maiden's name.

Allura stepped aside and gestured to the girl on the floor. Pidge grinned and offered a slight bow of her head. Shiro's eyes widened a fraction as his heart thumped. "It's good to finally meet you, Black Knight."

There's the green lion. She curled around the small girl on the floor, her emerald eyes focused on the girl's sweet face. The lion chuffed as Pidge stood to give a proper curtsey.

Shiro gulped.

Pidge was rather petite. Small in all aspects, but she was beautiful. Golden eyes, honey-colored hair that swept over her shoulder and pale, fair skin. The green dress she wore complimented her body and her skin. Her golden eyes raised to look up through her long lashes at him.

Shiro cleared his throat once more, and bowed. "The Green Knight, I presume."

"How observant." Pidge snorted, then attempted to cover it with a more lady-like giggle. Shiro smiled as he stood straight and held his shoulders up. "Now Voltron is complete once more. Where is your lion?"

"By the castle doors. He does not enter the castle." Shiro answered her. She was so... Enchanting. She had an elegant, yet curious and adventurous air to her. Suddenly, Allura didn't exist because there Pidge was - stealing his heart right out from under his nose.

The young maiden hummed and tilted her head. The white flower in her hair simmered in the growing light of dawn. "I would love to meet the black lion. Green tells me he is wonderful and courageous."

Shiro chuckled. "He is."

Allura intercepted, hooking her arm in Shiro's. Shiro tensed. "Oh, Pidge, you will simply adore Black! He looks scary, but he's quite sweet!"

"I can't wait to meet him."

Shiro decided he wanted to see her again. However, the issue with that was, he wanted to see her without Allura.
