Lance's race was dying out. A war raged with the Galra killed all their warriors- all the baby carriers.
Lance was apart of a race called Nescanthés from the planet Nescanthía. There were no gender rules. Just the Carriers and the Creators.
Carriers were the stronger of the race. The carried children to term and raised the next generation of Carriers. They all fought in battles as they were stronger, smarter, and faster.
Creators would have intercourse with their Carrier and lay their eggs inside the Carrier's womb. They are the home caretakers, and the flashier ones. They look stronger, but are only strong when it comes time to mate with their Carrier- or to lay their eggs inside the Carrier. They fertilize the eggs within their own body so the Carriers don't have the distraction if heats or periods. This is so Carriers can choose when the best time for them to become pregnant is. Their bodies are their own with nothing out of their control.
Some Carriers can carry up to seven children to term. It depends on how fertile their Creator is. Their terms- since they are the ones to fight battles- last up to three months. Also during their term, the Creator with have constant intercourse with their Carrier to give the child/children adequate nutrients and to keep the Carrier stimulated for their bodies to be less likely to reject the children.
Now, since Nescanthía and it's Carriers have been destroyed, the Creators must find a planet and a race that is compatible with them. To the top choices, three Creators have been sent to scout to see which planet is more suitable.
Lance was one of the three sent to a planet called Earth. He rather enjoyed Earth. Their race was very similar, so he and the other two Nescathés blend in rather well. Especially in a highly diverse area, such as the region called America or the United States. Lance found he blended well with Hispanics, Shiro with Asians, and Allura with African Americans.
That took Lance a long time to figure out with all the different name calling of each race. Asian was easier to figure out, but for Hispanics and African Americans? So much harder.
There's Beaners, Niggers, Blacks- Lance didn't really want to get into all the different names. He was uneasy with how hateful this planet was.
But, dear God, the people were gorgeous. Lance could stare all day long at all of them. Men, Women, Alphas, Betas and Omegas alike. Long hair, short hair, slim or thick- all so different and beautiful.
However, Lance couldn't choose his Carrier. Carriers were chosen for them. Abducted after their life was evaluated.
Lance was assigned to an Omega named Keith. Feisty thing. God, he was beautiful, though. Stunning lavender eyes, fair skin, raven hair... Lance fell in love just instantly.
Shiro was the same with his chosen Carrier. Another feisty human Omega named Katie who liked to be called Pidge by her closest family and friends. Allura was assigned some Omega named Nyma.
Omegas were Earth's form of Carriers. However, they do have heats. They carry eggs in themselves, and they are physically weaker than Alphas- the Creator's of Earth.
Lance was confused by a lot of Earth's customs and ways, but he got used to most of it. However, he did have to wait for his Carrier's heat to start before he lay his eggs inside his Carrier's womb...
