Klance... What else?

Keith sighed softly, gaze distant as he stared at the board. He twisted the pencil between his fingers, not really listening to the teacher.

"You're late, again, McClain. What excuse do you have this time?"

Everyone turned to the door, the Cuban boy sheepishly grinning and rubbing the back of his head. "No excuse, ma'am. My ma's car broke down and I jumped it as fast I could, but it wasn't quick enough apparently. Sorry. I'll try not to be late tomorrow."

Keith smiled as Lance slunk to the back of the room, then turned his very divided attention to the board.

The streets bustled, loud with honking cars and busy people trying to avoid the oncoming threat of rain from the dark clouds above.

Keith avoided bumping into people, hugging his coat tightly around himself. He huffed as the startings of rain splashed onto his face. "Great." He grumbled. "Of course I didn't bother to grab an umbrella."

Keith dashed into the next alleyway for cover. "Shiro needs to stop sending me out for his damn milk. He wants some, he can get it himself. I'm lactose interant and he don't give a shit."

The teen grumbled and kicked at trash, only to stop when he hears voices behind him. Keith turned. "Can I help you?"

One of the men grinned. "Actually, yeah." Keith blinked, then took a step back. "We need a few things."

Keith gripped the handles of the bag. "Uhm... I don't want to." He muttered, pivoted, then dashed.

"Hey!"

"Get back here!"

Keith skidded and sharply turned, then cursed under his breath. "Damn brick walls."
The two men panted and huffed as they came to a halt at the mouth of the alleyway. "So... You'll help us now. You don't have a choice anymore."

Keith sneered, the rain soaking through his coat. "I'm not 'helping' you with anything!"

"Really? Because I think-oof!"

Keith's eyes widened as a red and blue blur shot across the opening of the alley, knocking one of the men over.

The standing man blinked owlishly, then cried out as he was suddenly lifted into the air and tossed away. Both shouted and stumbled away as quickly as they could.

Keith smiled and rolled his eyes.

"You just can't help getting into trouble, huh?" The familiar voice mused from behind him.

"It's the only way to see you and thank you for the first time you saved me." Keith turned to face the man. Keith huffed in amusement. "Why're you upside down?"

He shrugged. "Why not?"

Keith stepped closer. "Isn't that uncomfortable? That suit in the rain."

The man puffed out his chest. "It's waterproof."

"Lucky you. Is it coldproof, too?"
