Klance
Another fucking mpreg

Keith couldn't figure out what it was he suddenly felt a desperate need for. It was an urgent nagging in the back of his mind as he walked down empty halls and a cold hole in his gut whenever he was near a happy family they just rescued or just happened to walk by. It was like a... like a longing... a yearning, almost.

Keith figures it has to be something to do with the fact that he didn't have a proper family growing up... Just, why did it have to happen after he was married to Lance?

Yeah, their married. So what? Got a problem? Keith will punch you in the gut and Lance will cheer him on in the background if you do.

Anyway, back to Keith's issue.

If it had to do with family, why is it that the feeling came when he was in a family and not when he didn't have a family? Was Keith still subconsciously upset that he didn't have a childhood like the rest of his teammates did?

"Babe?"

Keith snapped out of his trance and whipped his head up to look at his husband. "Lance..." Keith breathed, shoulders relaxing. "Sorry. I just got a little lost in thought."

Lance chuckled and shook his head. "You've been doing that a lot lately."

The red paladin smiled as Lance took both of his hands into his own. "I guess I have. Probably not good."

"Not at all." Lance mused with a soft kiss to Keith's knuckles. "What's got your head all messed up?"

Keith shrugged. "I don't know... That's what I'm trying to figure out."

Lance laughed heartily. "Wow, okay!" Lance calmed his laughter. "Well, tell me about it."

The red paladin huffed and looked away. "You're going to laugh all over again."

"No I won't." Lance sat beside Keith, wrapping an arm around his husband's shoulders. "Tell me. I swear I won't laugh."

Keith sighed, leaning into Lance. "Well... Whenever I'm near a family... I get this- this weird feeling... It'll even happen sometimes when I'm alone... It's like... I want something... Like- well, like a family... But I already have a family. I'm married to you, and then there's Shiro, and Pidge, and Hunk, and Allura, and Coran, and Matt." Keith breathed deeply. "I just... I'm confused. Why do I want a family when I already have one? Why do I feel empty when I see other families?"

The blue paladin hummed, running the tips of his fingers up and down Keith's arm. "I don't know... It is a little strange... Hey, try not to think so much about it. It may go away."

Keith rolled his eyes, but smiled. "I'll try that... For the dozenth time."

"Hey, I'm just trying to help. Come on, let's get to bed."

"Mkay."

~

Keith figured it out.

He's finally figured out his longing.

... And at the worst time.

They were in the middle of a battle on the ground without their lions. The Galrans were relentless and merciless. Everyone was tired from lack of sleep, sore from training, and now they have to fend off the Galra from the planet they were on.

Forming Voltron would be overkill since there were no Galran ships. Just the Galran people attacking the planet after being dropped off.

And Lance heard a child. Keith didn't hear it, so he thought Lance was delusional from exhaust and nearly panicked when he ran into a burning building. The top two floors exploded and the building began to collapse. Lance burst from a second story window, curled around something small. Keith ran over, glad there were no more Galra in the area, and knelt in front of Lance.
