I heard something said today that made no sense to me. Someone was talking about how black women should wear long blond hair because it doesn't resemble how our natural hair is.
See I don't know if they meant that black people can't have blond or that black people should only wear a hair color/weave resembling their actual hair. Either way that is a weird way of saying it. Black people can have blond hair, even blue eyes and you can wear whatever weave you want, the whole point is to do something different.
It's like saying you can only wear eyeshadow that resembles what your eyelids look like or something like that.
On top of that they were talking about how Beyoncé wears her hair like that. Yeah she does, we see it all see that. They said that only celebrities can wear that because they are entertainers but "normal people" can't.
I don't know where that logic came from but that really aggravated me. I don't even understand how that makes any sense. Maybe y'all can tell me because this truly just sounded kind of stupid to me.
And I will end with a question ..
Do you guys think only celebrities are allowed to wear unique weaves?
love,
black girl ki.
