So, I don't know if you guys know but years ago Madonna once revealed that she dated Tupac about 3 years before he died and that is kind of what I want to talk about today.

A couple minutes ago I got a notification on twitter from CassiusLife (they also have a website, www.cassiuslife.com ITS LIT). I clicked on it and mentioned a letter (by Tupac) to Madonna. In the letter he was telling her some different things and one thing that he mentioned basically meant he was not going to be with her anymore because she was white.

So instead of just reading the individual excepts I'm gonna show you the letter.

Now, I'm not hear to criticize them about what they wanted to do. I honestly wouldn't have minded what they wanted to do, even though my thoughts wouldn't matter to them.

What I want to talk about is a specific thing Tupac said, "Can u understand that? For you to be seen with a Black man wouldn't in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting. But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my 'image' I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you."

So, I'm assuming that he believed that letting the world know that he was dating (maybe "in like") with a white woman because he image was know as, 'stand up for black people' time deal. He probably thought that it would offend Black people and Black women specifically and that's why he 'ended it' with Madonna.

A question was asked my (www.cassiuslife.com) that really had me thinking, 'As for Tupac dating Madonna, is it a betrayal when a Black man dates a white woman? Sound off.'

For me, I'm gonna say this right now, it does sometimes hurt when a Black man wants to uplift a non-Black woman over a Black woman. The problem isn't that you shan't date out of your race but the fact that you do it because of the "Black women aren't as good," mentality.

I personally can date a Black man, white man, Asian man, Latino man, of anything else. I don't have a problem if anyone else do either.

Another thing that fits into that is the "I want my kids to be mixed and have 'good hair'". I heard a couple of my good friends say that and it's like ... REALLY?

Good hair is HEALTHY hair so YEAH, I want my kids to have good hair but would it matter that of race? I think not.

I don't know it just doesn't matter. So to you reading this, date who you want, don't worry about what others say, if that person has real dark skin or hella pale skin, real kinky hair or bone straight hair, just be happy.

Do I think a black man betrays his race by dating a white women or any other non-Black women? No, not unless you do it out of a trend or something like that.

And I will end with a question ..

Do you it's think a Black man who dates a non-Black woman betrays his race?

love,
