Guys, there is something that I just recently truly realized and it's crazy considering on every other level, it's something always in the back of my mind. I'm sure most if not all of you have some type of social media.
For this topic today I specifically mean Instagram and here is why. Look at every single female that has really "blown up" at some point in a huge way. I mean just for being them, not talent or anything like that. I can think of Baby Ariel, They Love Arii, Thailian (or however you say it), Kaylina, Vicky, Dani, Malu, and Sidney Cellas. Now, this isn't gonna be me hating or anything like that but just think about them and what they all look like.
If you don't get it I'ma say it, they are either mixed or not Black/darker skinned. I know that Black and darker skinned girls do have like hundreds of thousands sometimes but just truly think, do they ever really get the type of "fame" the others do. Even think just about Malu and Dani, I mean LOOK at their follower count, it's crazy how that happens. Anyways, think of all they do and if a Black girl was to do it, NO FAME whatsoever.
Especially Vicky, I mean COME ON! Vicky and Malu are just on a whole other level. Danielle is at least truly entertaining.
You don't really see Black girls that started off just like the girls previously mentioned get that type of fame, I mean they get some obviously but even then think of all the things they say to them. They are still calling Chy the Greatest a "roach" (which really aggravates me).
Anyways, do y'all get what I'm trying to say here? I have yet to truly see Black girls get the fame. I mean, getting famous off the things they do is kind of iffy but I'm just evaluating society. It literally makes me so sad, not even sad, I don't even have words to describe it. People just don't understand how it is to be a Black girl in this society, in America, in this culture. I mean, I try to be a strongwilled as I can be but sometimes, I'm not gonna be that person, I'm not gonna be that person to keep it cool, calm, and collected because it is OFFENSIVE! This isn't some frivolous thing that I do here saying these things.
I know the content I post isn't gonna get that much recognition because it's just not "family friendly" and it's not all around fun. I mean the world isn't family friendly and all around fun and sometimes we NEED this reality check that I hope to give people.
I honestly hope that some Black males would read this book or any other books similar to mine and see how it is! Maybe they don't understand, maybe they can't fully get where we come from. I have a majority female base and obviously, Black men (really any men) wouldn't really read my content but you know, share this chapter or just tell someone you know about this stuff.
SOCIAL MEDIA is supposed to be an unfiltered outlet, major companies are supposed to be dictating what we see. Yet AGAIN, we see the "superiority" of non-Black, mixed, and light-skinned woman and it SUCKSSSSSS.
And I will end with a question ..
Am I taking this all out of proportion or is this all factual?
love,
black girl ki.
