Yoo, I'm Kianna. So, I've really been inspired to write this book because of all the things going on it the Black/POC community. I've seen a lot of books but I wanted to start my own and give my own perspective. I will give opinions as well as facts...

So I just heard about this a couple of minutes ago and it was on a show not typically watched and I didn't know if anyone saw it. I just had to talk about this so here it is.
The title itself no matter what is something that would piss me off. I immediately thought, why in the world is this an acceptable reason for a child to be kicked out of a learning facility. Then I thought, well maybe it was like so sadity schools (no offense though AHA) where they have to be sophisticated. Although to me you should have freedom of your choice of hairstyle so whatever. If you did attend that school your and your parents (especially your parents) should follow the rules because you know if you are at that school you should follow the rules.
Then I was like HELL to the no. Unacceptable. You can not govern a hairstyle choice. I don't care if any of y'all think it is distracting. You know how in life are distracting? What? Is the government gonna govern your hairstyle choices? No, at least not in this present time of March 14, 2017. So chill on all these boundaries or barriers because when we get in the real world, good Lord help us, or help me. That is a whole other conversation for another day.
On top of that, what would probably hit you all is what this is truly getting people about. This is really about race. Of course they try and cover it up but it is about race.
So look:

Jaylon Sewell and 20 other black boys suspended for virtually every hairstyle. 21 black boys.
"They [Sewell's family] claimed that Sewell was discriminated against despite white students being able to attend class with dyed hair." - globalgrind.com
Mhm, this is what I wanted to get to and this really got my attention. So they then brought out the dress code, the VERY thing I am against (not all the way, yeah okay mostly).
"Though the Monroe City Schools dress code states, 'Hair styles, and hair dyed outlandish colors which cause a disruption to the educational process shall not be allowed,'"
Duh, my school says this too, it's probably very similar for most school. I still hate this rule with a passion, on everything in my soul. These are like ancient rules that I truly truly truly disagree. If you didn't know by know, I HATE many rules in school.
If my school told me my hairstyle was too disrupting. My God, y'all would see me on every news outlet. You would be reading about me. That is something I'm not accepting as okay. POINT BLANK SEMICOLON, COMMA, EXCLAMATION POINT, PERIOD.
Then it goes on it went to say black students are disproportionately punishes compared to the white kids mentioned earlier.
I GET it is a rule, that is supposed to be followed (but should be changed). HELLOOOO anyone wanna listen to what I have to say about it? Anyways that went on to called the hairstyles "too nappy".
The nappy part doesn't offend me and shouldn't offend you all either, it's not an insult until made one. Just like gay, I just read someone else's book, it's not an insult until intended as one. Nappy isn't an insult, it just isn't. Saying 'too' nappy as in an insult is wrong. Saying anything as in insult is wrong.
Lastly what really got me thinking and my mind wondering was this last thing.
"...but this smells like another case of pushing Black kids out of school for minuscule and culturally biased reasons." - globalgrind.com
AHA, trying to set us up for failure. I have so many things I can say about this. We can win for losing. The constant pushing for us to be less than powerful, to be inferior, et cetera. I can go on and on. I'm telling you, we have to bond together. Us as a people are way for powerful than given credit for. We have come a hella long way, though we still have a ways to go. This issue may seem barely important but see how in each daily part of our lives, people are trying to take away the power we have.
Just think about it. You may think I'm going over board with the situation but really think. I'm serious and see what you think.
And I will end with a question ..
How do you guys feel about the:
'Hair styles, and hair dyed outlandish colors which cause a disruption to the educational process shall not be allowed,' rule?
