Okay, so every week in my English class, we do an article of the week. Two weeks ago, it was about DACA. When the teacher was handing the essay back she read two that she thought was really well written and one of them she read was mine so I thought I should let you guys read it.

DACA is the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. It was implemented in the Obama-era protecting undocumented immigrants that arrived to the U.S. as a child from deportation and allowed them to legally work. Being in this program protects them for two years (in which can be renewed for a fee) and also allowed them to work. You are only qualified if you arrived before the age of 16 and have lived in the United States since 2007.

I think that it is a great idea especially considering the fact that they arrived here by their parent's terms and not their own. Some people may argue that they pose a threat but so do some of the legal citizens (sometimes even worse). DACA does not protect those with any legal convictions. Along with prior mentioned qualifications, you also need to currently be in a school, the military, with a diploma or have a job. People can't even use that argument because, like I said, criminals have no protection.

Personally, I think it's shameful and embarrassing that even Canada accepts people more than we do. America should be more accepting because what if the Native Americans treated the colonist the way America treats immigrants (specifically Hispanics and other non-Europeans). They didn't and those colonists took advantage of that. They overran their communities and killed most of them off.

Every immigrant as well as anyone bad off comes here and tries to do their part. This makes the country millions and billions of dollars. America benefits and has benefited from the hard labor of the people they oppress. Even more so, giving no credit but oppressing even more. Not even realizing (or maybe they do) that that is what makes and has made this country so "great".

And scene.

And I will end with a question ..

Just tell me what you think of this (BTW, she didn't read past the second paragraph but it was way longer than everyone else's.) Mine was about a page and a half and everyone else did almost less than half a page.
