Mel's POV

It's been a while since I've had some major drama. Life is good, Dee Dee pretended to give birth the other day.

I'm not kidding, imagine a three year old screaming on your kitchen floor with a stuffed nemo stuck up her shirt, and rolling around. That's what it looked like. Unfortunately for Jason, he was here too.

We were just sitting on the couch and watching tv before my Mom got home. He put his arm around me, and I leaned onto his chest. This is so weird, sometimes I still can't believe I have a boyfriend. It's so weird.

I mean Dani, or Ellie whatever she wants to be called now, has a boyfriend too. But she's changed, and I don't really like the guy she's been dating.

We went over to visit a while back, and he was there. Dee Dee ran off with Dani's sisters, my Mom was talking to hers, and Alysha was working.

"Hey" he greeted me, he had his arm around her.

"Hi" I said quietly. When it comes to meeting new people, especially Dani's friends I tend to get very quiet. But Dani likes this guy, so I'll try to give him a chance. He's got semi curly brown hair, that falls into his eyes. He's really tall, and I'm like 5"5. Well this is awkward. I have to look up at him.

I could feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, most likely a text from Eileen. I pull out my slidephone, and open the text.

-Hey!!!! How's it going? Whatcha up too? Comment ca va?

-I'm at Dani's, ttyl.

I close the phone and join Dani on the couch. This Will guy pulls out his phone. Dani switches the television on, and the first thing to pop up is Hannah Montana.

"You know I don't like this sh*it Dani turn it off" says Will. He won't even look up at her.

"Alright" she says, she sounds pretty offended. "Calm down, it's just being taped"She switches the channel to some football game.

"Happy now?" she asks and he doesn't even look up.

I need to change the subject before this gets out of hand.

"So Dani, how's school?" I ask her.

"Oh it's good, I'm really just trying to get my grades up" she says.

"Oh really?" I ask.

"Well" she starts. "We can't all be intellectually superior to our classmates can we?" She asks and I grin.

"Hey! It pays off, and the campaign to valerdictoriam is a hard one"

"You want to be valerdictiorian?" she asks and I nod.

"Oh that's so exciting! Isn't it great Will?"she elbows him and he looks up.

"Yeah it's great" he mumbles. I watch his thumbs start typing again.

"Who are you texting?" asks Dani.

"Uh" Will pauses. "My Mom, I have to go now. Bye babe." He says and pecks her on the lips. He's headed for the door, and she uses thee extra couch space to stretch out her legs.

"Need the extra space there big foot?" I ask her.

"Not my fault I grew three inches" she shrugs. I laugh at her.

"Mom!" yells Dani from the bottom of the stairs.

"What?!" Aunt Denise screams back, with a voice as shrill as hers.

"Can Mel sleep over? Please!" I'm wincing at the sound of their voices.

"Sure!" her Mom yells back. We grin at each other, and head downstairs to the basement. I grab a blanket from the space they have under the stairs, and pulls the couch into a bed.

"You can borrow my pajamas if you want" says Dani and we head upstairs to get them.

About an hour later, we're in her basement watching Sixteen Candles.

"Dani?" I ask her.

"Yeah" she replies.

"Do you really like this Will guy?"

"I think so, he's really good to me"

"Is he?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, he's not all the nice to you."

"Oh, well he has a lot of pressure on him. He's on a bunch of sports teams and his Dad teaches at my school. It's so weird. But sometimes he just has to get it all out, so I let him"

"That's not healthy"

"Sure it is" she says. "I mean I don't vent to him but-"

"Just promise me one thing" I ask her.

"What?"

"Don't let this guy change you, more then you already have changed"

"It's fine Mel, don't worry" she says. Throughout this whole conversation, she hasn't even looked at me. She's still watching the screen. Is she even paying attention? I want her to remember what I'm saying.

"Long duk dong" she laughs. "That''s hilarious"

Eileen, Jason and I were headed for the movies the Saturday after I left Dani's.

"What do you want to see?" I ask Jason and he shrugs. "Whatever you want" he smiles at me, and I give him a smile in return.

"You guys, are adorable!" screeches Eileen.

"Thank you I know" I flip my hair and she laughs.

"Always the charmer" comments Jason as he kisses me on the cheek. I'm about to kiss him on, when I look up to the balcony. Someone is pointing at me, and laughing. A blonde girl, and a brunette.

"So how about paranormal activity?" asks Eileen. I'm not focused on what she's saying, I'm focused on those girls.

It's Josie and Emily. Why are they laughing at me? I thought we were friends. Then I see another two friends of ours walk up behind them. Mark and Ryan. I can see Mark's eyes go wide, and he turns on his feet and goes the other way. I can see he's holding a bag of popcorn, and it's flying out as he walks way. I thought Mark and I were pretty good friends too. Why wouldn't he invite me?

"Eileen" I hiss, and she looks up from the movie magazine she must've grabbed. I see her face turn to a hard expression, and she curses.

"Josie that little slut". Jason looks over too, and turns away from them. He takes my hand.

"C'mon, lets go see the movie" He says and tries to pull me away. But I can't, I can't stop staring at them. I though we were friends, that we were all friends. Why wouldn't they invite me?

Eileen just looks up at Josie, who of course if flaunting her chest in Ryan's face. "C'mon Mel" says Jason. He's tugging at me now, and I follow him to our theatre.

"Aren't you bothered by this?" I ask Jason, "Mark and Ryan are your friends. They're leaving you out too"

"I have you, I'm good" says Jason. Of course this earns him a kiss, and we head into the theatre.

"You better not be making out during the movie" warns Eileen. "I won't hesitate to throw popcorn at you"

"Why would we make out during Paranormal activity?" asks Jason as we walk up the isle to our seats.

"I don't know" says Eileen. "You might be into some freaky stuff who knows with couples these days"
