Hey guys!
So I decided to confess a few things about this book, and not update.
Sorry Brooklyn my editor is slow.
Anyways, here's what I can think of.
1. Most characters in Freshman are based off of real people. If you're one of my friends, you have the luxury to know that I based characters off my real friends, even people that've hurt me. And some of them are play on of those people's names.
2. A lot of the book is my own experiences, written out. I guess it's my way of venting. Will represents a friend I had in my first year of High School, and let's just say things didn't work out. But for a while after it ended, I wanted them too, which is why Will and Dani are together.
3. I based Dani off of myself. Although I never went through a rebellious phase (or maybe I haven't yet, I don't know) she's a piece of my soul. She's not me, but we share the same interests, and her family is the exact same as mine.
4. Dani's favourite football team is my favourite football team. This one's not all that exciting, but true.
5. Lizzy represents another previous friend of mine, who changed my whole life around.
6. Amber, it's Sara. Sorry I never told you I wrote Freshman, I was too much of a wuss. I really wanted you to read the book, but I thought you'd think I was weird if I wrote a book. I was freaking out over my own book, kinda lame but true. Sorry I didn't tell you, see you when school starts up again.
7. Rachel is a real person and so is Dani's experience with her (though much less violent, more catty girl fighting). I guess this was another way to vent, since for a long time I just bottled it up inside. Maybe I made Rachel such a villain because I was the only one to perceive her that way when it was happening for real.
8. Abby's real, and I can guarantee we've never gotten into a fight.
9. Mel is my real cousin, and Eileen's her real best friend.
10. This is probably the saddest one of all, but Jeremy is not real. As much as I want him to be. He's actually a character from my friend's book, and this is (I guess I'm not too sure) his humble begininngs.
Love y'all
Smiles.
