Dani's POV
"You have got to be kidding me..." I tell Lizzy as I examine my costume in the mirror.
"Oh c'mon, you look great." she grins and I glare at her.
"I didn't even want to go to this party, and now I'm dressed as Wonder Woman." I eye myself warily in the mirror. I really don't like this costume, I feel like my chest is going to fall out of the top.
"I know I'm amazing aren't I?" She smiles in her costume; she's Miss Marvel. The costume is almost worse than mine, if that's possible.
"Well the party is at school for once, and we're going to have some fun." she grins and puts some lipstick on, puckering them and then pouting at her reflection in the bathroom mirror.
"Ok, can we just go already?" I practically beg her.
My phone vibrates, and I look sown to see that I had a text from Will.
"See you there ;)"
"You could totally like lose it to him." she gushes after she reads the text over my shoulder.
"Oh my god no!" I scoff at her. She rolls her eyes, and I follow her out of the bathroom.
Before we leave, she stops.
"You got that bag I gave you yesterday?"
"Yeah" I sigh. I'm glad I'm going to be rid of it; I don't want to hold onto this damned thing any longer.
"Good lets go."
Minutes later, I find myself at the school gym. It was packed with people.
I tighten my grip on Wonder Woman's 'lasso' (really it's just a skipping rope spray painted silver)
"Please Lizzy let's just get the money, and forget this ever happened." I say quietly, but when I turn around, she's gone.
"Lizzy?" I ask, but there's no one but a gymnasium full of people. Awesome, now I'm alone in a gym with a bag of weed.
She told me to look for a guy dressed as a giant banana.
You're joking with me right now.
I check my red boots, and can feel the bag zipped inside.
Okay it's still there.
You can do this, it's just one time.
I find the guy, and he smiles at me. "I was told to look for Wonder Woman." he says, looking me up and down, and I nod, trying not to flinch away.
The music is filling my ears, I need to find Lizzy and Will. Now preferably. But I know they're dealing somewhere.
"You got your cash?" I ask him and he nods. God, I even sound like a drug dealer.
"You got the stuff?" He asks, and I look around.
Everyone's attention seems to be turned to the dance floor, the DJ is switching it up.
I bend over, and open up my boot.
"Here." I say and hand it to him. He flashes his yellow toothed smile (gross) and hands me $40. I stuff it in my right boot.
"Thank you for your service Wonder Woman." he walks away and I feel a weight lifted off my chest.
I'm so glad to be rid of it.
I make my way to the dance floor, occasionally bumping into a few people.
Eventually, I see Jeremy.
