Dear Jeremy,

How's the great outdoors? Did you remember bug spray?

Things in Toronto are fine, bloody murder and drug dealing in the streets. You know, the typical thing.

Alysha is packing, she'll be gone in two weeks...I don't know how I feel about that. I've always wanted to be an only child, but now...I don't know anymore. Constant attention from my parents doesn't seem so wonderful anymore.

I'm writing to you on Canada day. Is your camp doing anything patriotic? If so that'd be cool.

My family's going to the beach soon to watch the fireworks on a boat my Dad bought. Cool huh?

They're even thinking of buying a cottage to go with it! How's that for planning? Classic Jones family.

I don't think we're the boating type, but I don't care. It sounds like fun to me.

Lizzy keeps bugging me about it, saying we should have a party on my yacht. I don't think she realizes it's just a normal boat. And that I don't want to party anymore.

I miss you, a lot. And it's only been two days.

Dear Dani,

Camp's been good so far. No campers have tied me up and thrown me out of a canoe, so the summer started off on a good foot.

We have to have nicknames here, I don't know why; probably to give the counsellors a more mysterious aura, but most likely more so that the campers won't stalk us on Facebook.

My nickname is Banner. Not many people get it, but I fist bumped everyone who did.

No electricity here. It's been torture! Going to bathroom at night has become an extreme sport. On the plus side, my morning routine has gone down to about five minutes. No need for hair care or exfoliation in the wilderness! I did remember bug spray, but considering the insects are the size of guinea pigs, it's not been working so well. I'm getting a lot of sun. Soon I'll be so tanned you won't recognize me!

The only thing patriotic we did was a few games and roasting marshmallows. Really feeling the Canadian spirit. I'm so proud.

Boats are always fun, as are cottages, not that is know so well considering I haven't been on or to either.

Partying is overrated anyway. It's much more sensible to stay inside and become a hermit than to have a thriving social life. I'm glad you've finally turned down the right path.

I miss you too. Don't worry too much, the summer'll be over before you know it.

From,

Jeremy, or should I say Dr. Banner?

Dearest Jeremy,

You're a nerd, you know that?

Yet somehow I still find myself hanging out with you. I'll leave that problem for future Dani.

Of course I understand the reference. I'm not a total ditz.

We bought the cottage, nice thing about it is that I don't have to share a bathroom. I actually have my own shower!

Maybe I'll bring you up here sometime, I know Mel's been here pretty much every week.

We do the standard cottage thing, canoeing, kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing.

Hanging out with Mel, it's pretty fun. She's really smart, just not so athletic. Maybe we balance each other out or something.
