Staring down at his younger sister he felt a sense of sadness in himself. She had not been awake in 500 years. Not since she helped Katherine escapes. For those crimes against her family she was to be punished in the only way he knew how. Brushing his sisters long brown hair he sighed. She was the middle child. There were always two of his siblings he could not control. Kol and Layla. His sister Layla lying in front of him she was always smart unlike Kol. But her desire for freedom trumped even Rebekah's. She was cold hearted and cruel. The things he'd seen her do. He could honestly say he'd never done as much evil as she had. He remembered when they were children her dark green eyes were the sun, the innocence. But being a vampire, it just made you more of who you were, turned your personality on full blast. She must have had a cruel streak. He'd just never seen it. "You do know when Layla wakes she'll wake Kol. Then together they always brought out the darkest in each other, there will be no mercy." Elijah warned him watching his younger sister adoringly. He'd watched her over the centuries when she was awake.

She wasn't a kind child. She was ambitious, ruthless, and opportunistic, she'd been a seed of destruction their father had made. But she'd always try and be good. That became hard after they turned. The darkness inside of Layla grew significantly. He regretted the events that transpired between them and Katherine. He just wanted her to see the kindness in the world. See the light and fall in love with someone who believed you could be good. "I know brother. She'll never forgive me for this."

"No she won't" Elijah agreed running a hand down Layla's olive complexion face and shutting the coffin. Klaus feared Layla. Truly feared what the small girl could do. He'd seen her at her strongest. He'd seen her at her weakness. But he'd never seen her shed a tear for what she could not control. He did not believe he knew her weakness. Not like she knew his.

Later on that night Layla let out a gasp opening her eyes for the first time in 500 years. Sitting up her green eyes looked around the room noticing she was in a coffin and then she saw Kol getting out of the coffin. Climbing out she fell trying to regain her balance Kol helped her up and Layla's face turned vengeful growling. "I am going to skin Niklaus alive." Layla spat storming out leading the siblings out of the room.

"I've learnt not to trust your vulgar promises." Elijah spoke as they entered the room. Layla flashed her teeth at him veins growing under her eyes as she stormed over to him with Kol following.

"Layla, Kol" Klaus spoke up his eyes shining with fear.

"Long time Brother" Kol commented with a smirk as Klaus backed up.

"Too long." Layla snarled as Klaus tried to speed away. Layla sped forward kicking Klaus' knees in making him fall and Rebekah stabbed him as Layla grabbed his head slowly breaking his skull causing him to scream in pain. "Oh how I've missed that sound." Layla commented with a smirk. Fin then ran fourth stabbing Klaus.

"This is for our mother." Rebekah yelled punching Klaus.

"You are free to go this is family business." Elijah informed the two younger vampires who sped off quickly.

"Did you miss us?" Layla taunted looking to Fin with a nod.

"You killed our mother." Fin spat angrily.

"I believe Layla had the right idea beating him to a pulp." Kol grinned manically holding Klaus down.

"I like what you've done with the new place Nik." Rebekah praised him picking up a glass vase and throwing it against the painting. Layla looked around the room confused with all the contraptions. Rolling her eyes she settled her gaze on Rebekah.

"Was your dramatics required?" Layla inquired lazily.

"No but it was fun," Rebekah stated.

"I wanted it to be for all of us a place we could all call home. A place we could all be a family. None of us would ever have to be alone again." Klaus muttered looking pleadingly between his siblings.

"I was alone for 500 years in a fucking box Nik! Trust me I have no intention of staying in the same content with you." Layla yelled with the fury of hell leaving her voice as Klaus seemed to break watching the fury of his younger sister.

"We're leaving Nik, right after I kill that doppelganger wench" Rebekah informed him coldly. "And you will be alone, always and forever."

"If you run I will hunt all of you down." Klaus spat.

"Then you'll become everything you hate, our father." Elijah informed Klaus coolly.

"I'M THE HYBRID! I CAN'T BE KILLED! I have nothing to fear from any of you." Klaus pointed between all of them with venom oozing from his voice.

"You will when we have that coffin." Elijah stated as the siblings all stared each other down. Shocking everyone the door opened and they all turned to face it seeing a face they'd never thought they'd see again. Their mother. She walked down and over to Klaus who looked away in shame.

"Look at me." She commanded. "Do you know why I am here?" She asked.

"Here to kill me" Klaus stated believing himself a lost cause.

"Niklaus you are my son and I am here to forgive you. I want us to be a family again." Esther declared to her children who stared at her shocked and confused. After the declaration Layla was standing in her room, she'd chosen the room that had the best view, she knew this room was made for her, Klaus always liked to be in control so he made rooms dedicated to everyone's personality. Rebekah walked into the room with some clothes in hand.

"Tomorrow we'll go shopping but you need to get out of that awful dress." Rebekah commented handing Layla skinny jeans and a white shirt. Layla took them looking at them confused.

"What are this clothes?" Layla looked at them taking her dress off and putting the shirt on.

"You've been in a box for quite a while." Rebekah pointed out.

"Oh really? Never would have guessed." She snarled putting the pants on and then looked to Rebekah with a smirk. "Maybe you should lay of the 4th serving of blood Rebekah these are quite loose." She teased her sister looking around the room as Rebekah handed her a phone.

"I'll teach you how to use it tomorrow and don't be a bitch." Rebekah drawled out walking out of the room. Layla walked downstairs to the alcohol cabinet and poured herself some wine sitting on the couch lazily. Kol walked in smiling down at his older sister.

"How is my favourite sister, ready to tear up the new century with me like old times?" Kol asked with a wicked grin. Giving him a grin she leaned forward taking a sip of her drink.

"I look forward to mayhem and chaos." Layla drawled out psychotically with her brother. Anger was running through her veins ready to be used like a drug and honestly, Layla had no intention of stopping the sensation. She was trapped in a box for 500 years left alone to her thoughts, to her insanity. Could say she was bored and angry and ready to destroy Klaus.
