The next morning Klaus walked into her room after she dressed herself. She then smiled over at Klaus as he saw Stefan seeing sleeping in her bed. "And the rippers lay with each other like a bunch of junkies." Klaus nastily commented and Layla narrowed her eyes at him.

"Piss off Nik," Layla spat at him angrily.

"Get Kol into order or he'll find himself in a box. You have until tonight." Klaus spat pushing past her. Layla's eyes narrowed at Klaus as she made her way out of the room and she then walked down into the Grill sitting and waiting. Kol sat next to her raising an eyebrow.

"What do you want sister? I asked if I could trust you and then you leave me." Kol spat his chest rising trying to control his rage.

"You tried to kill Rebekah, I love you Kol but Rebekah is my family as well as you." Layla stated with worry. "You'll get killed on your task."

"I'm a thousand year old vampire you think a baby vampire and a hunter can kill me?" Kol snarled his nostrils flaring with fury.

"Kol you have always been an impulsive idiot but don't be the impulsive idiot that gets yourself killed after a thousand years of survival!" Layla tried to argue with her views on survival that differed from her brother. He narrowed his eyes going to walk away before stopping and turning to her his soulless black eyes settling on her.

"There is only one thing that can kill me sister, and the fact you have sided with Niklaus is something more idiotic than I can believe. The search for the cure has seemingly ruined all of us. Including you. You were always so stone cold. You never took anyone's side but mine; it was good having a sister like you. Hell even a family member like you. Guess they all turn to Niklaus because poor him." Kol yelled to Layla glaring down at her towering over her. Layla narrowed her eyes up at him.

"Oh fuck you Kol, fuck you and your delusions it's the fighters that survive and if you don't fight then you'll never survive. You've never fought for everything you stupid brat." Layla spat shoving past him storming out of the room going on a binge for blood. Later that night she was lying at home with a living room full of dead bodies and she was sipping at her drink. Rebekah walked into the house with Stefan following after her, her eyes settling on Layla in pity. Seeing Layla right now. She looked so broken. So deflated. Her older sister. SO full of life. So full of fun and also so full of rage.

"What's wrong with her?" Stefan asked never seeing this side of Layla. She sat in the wake of her own destruction and all she did was look melancholy.

"Her fights with Kol, they always destroyed both of them. Layla is a lot like Kol but they do have more than a few differences. Layla basks in her destruction watching it alone with pain." Rebekah explained walking over to Layla while Stefan waited further away knowing his place. Once Rebekah made it to in front of Layla she offered a smile at the deflated girl. Sitting up she seemed to harden her face. "Layla...its Kol." Rebekah whispered. "He's dead," Rebekah excluded the part where it was the Gilbert clan that killed him. Sitting up Layla's face fell. Her heart clenched and her eyes cast down settling on the floor.

"No" Layla whispered standing up and walking out of the house numbly. Getting her phone out she looked for the GPS tracker on Kol's phone. Driving all the way to where it was she stopped outside the Gilbert house and stood where the door was. She looked at his burned body and her hand went to cover her face as she fell to her knees. Layla let out an ear piercing scream. Klaus noticed his younger sister and he tried to get over to her. "No..." Layla cried out softly as the tears fell from her eyes and dripped down her cheek. "Kol...no, no, no Kol, no!" Layla repeated shaking her head. Turning away she let out a choked scream looking to the ground. Looking to Klaus her face had never been so full of pain. "Jeremy and Elena did this?" Layla asked as she tried to push her pain down.

"Layla, I'm so sorry." Klaus whispered feeling his own pain but knowing Layla's was greater. She'd loved Kol more than any of them. When he promised always and forever with Elijah and Rebekah she promised always and forever with Kol. She then began nodding her head quickly and she didn't stop as she turned away from him.

"No," Layla whispered walking down the stair not listening to Klaus who was calling after her. She got in her car calling Elijah and she got his voicemail cursing she scrunched her eyes together. "Elijah, Kol had died, the Gilbert family killed him. Not that you'd care you never really loved him anyway." Layla whispered hanging up. She then walked to a small diner and her eyes met with Katherine's who looked at her old friend sadly. Katherine's arms wrapped around Layla tightly smoothing down her hair as Layla stood there numbly drawing in a tight breath.

"You'll get your revenge Layla." Katherine assured her moving away from Layla.

"I want his kill to be mine. A brother for a brother. It's only fair." Layla snarled pushing the tears away. "I'll grieve when the war is won." Layla assured herself sitting down with Katherine.
