The next day Layla walked into the family home after a night of drinking herself to sleep only to find Fin and Kol in their new bodies chained and sitting at the main table. Sitting down she reached for a scone cutting it in half and spreading whipped cream and jam on it before looking between her brothers. "All we're missing is Esther, Mikael and Rebekah from this delightful family reunion." Layla stated coldly as she took a bite.

"And prey tell sister where have you been?" Klaus asked with a smirk.

"Satisfying old cravings." Layla coldly answered.

"Of course I didn't expect anything less. Anyhow you came just in time." Klaus commented with a smirk and Layla looked to Kol with a cringe and the makings of duck lips.

"We arrive into this world as innocence, wide eyed vulnerable, it is the job of our parents to nurture and protect us. Unfortunately our parents failed so miserably at even the most basic of parental tasks. But we are not beholden to the past they created for us. Today a new future awaits. Forget your animosity towards Elijah and myself and-"Klaus was cut off.

"Don't mention me, I am actually on good terms with my brothers Nik." Layla held her hand up with a sigh.

"Fine, look, join us against she who truly deserves your Eire our mother. Do this and we will welcome you with open arms." Klaus offered and Kol tilted his head and reached out for the scones that Elijah moved away from Kol who slammed his hand on the table and lifted it up giving Elijah a 'what the fuck seriously?' face. "But continue to oppose us and a denial of pastries will be the least of your problem." Klaus put the offer on table as Layla got a scone cutting it and putting the whipped cream and jam on it handing it over to Kol who smiled at Layla.

"If all you wanted was my allegiance against mother dearest you should have said so." Kol commented taking a bite of the scone.

"That was Niklaus; my recommendation was to remove your limbs one by one until you comply." Elijah stated dryly making Klaus laugh nervously sharing a passing glance with Layla.

"You know the moment you did that I would have steaked you with the white oak." Layla threatened him looking over making eye contact to which he glared at her.

"And I continue to wonder why anyone thinks you are so threatening." Elijah bit back making Layla grip her knife with a vindictive smirk.

"We have no desire to torture you provided you stand by us as brothers and sisters." Klaus offered; interjecting between the squabble between Elijah and Layla.

"Brothers? Does that word even apply to us? After all these centuries of betrayal and this loyalty ever really rewarded?" Fin spat questioningly. "If so tell me Niklaus where is our sister? Rebekah...she was blindly loyal to you for a thousand years and now nowhere to be found. Where did our sister go and how did she escape you?"

"You think me vile? Then what do you make of the one who cursed us?" Klaus asked making Layla sigh.

"She was trying to make you both mortal again but you both refused her. She didn't try with you Layla because she knows you'll be the easiest one to persuade." Fin started looking her in the eye causing Elijah and Klaus to snap their heads over to her. She looked away from them and at Fin.

"What do you mean by that? I enjoy what I am." Layla commented sternly.

"You don't enjoy your hunger, you've only accepted it. But when you were human you tapped into your magic. You loved it. Mother will offer an escape from blood lust from an eternity of pain and loneliness that you fear. A human life with magic." Fin bargained. Layla looked him in the eye. She couldn't say she didn't like his offer. She didn't like the idea of forever. Not if she was being honest. She did love being a vampire, she was strong, fast, the most powerful being on the earth but then she loved being a witch more than she cared to admit. Fin watched her carefully he knew she wanted to take the offer up. None of them had quite felt the drawbacks of being a vampire worse than Layla. As much as she revelled in the destruction she caused, enjoyed being soaked in the blood and hearing the screamed and cries of her victims as she killed them she also hated it because she had this hunger inside her that pained her. She'd lost more than they had earlier on.
