A week or so later Layla was sitting in an ice cream parlour with Kol her feet on his lap as she lazily ate at her ice cream. Kol watched her carefully as they were waiting for Jeremy. Kol was mulling over his sisters reaction to Fin's death. Layla grieved silently. She hadn't produced a reaction. None of them were close to Fin. Layla was the closest to Fin. They'd bonded over being daggered and hatred for what they were but when it came down to it Layla enjoyed living more than Fin ever did. Kol was waiting for her to break. The death of sibling you were promised forever with, it wasn't easy to get over. "How much longer did Nik say we had to be here? No offence but the Denver charm has worn off considerably ever since I tasted their men and pretzels." Layla complained as Kol got a text.

"Change of plans sister and stop you're complaining I don't need to be reminded of your sexual blood bath conquests." Kol spat with disgust as he got up and Layla followed him out of the parlour and down to the batting cages and he took a wooden bat. Layla's expression darkened when she saw Elena and Damon.

"Hey guys." Jeremy grinned walking up to Layla and Kol.

"Damon its Layla and Kol!" Elena seemed to have shrieked. Layla smirked looking to them as Kol smashed a bat over Damon's face knocking him down and Layla sped over to Elena grabbing her hair roughly. "Jeremy get back they're originals!" Elena called out to him.

"No hard feeling mate but we're not buds." Kol commented going for a metal bat. "You know I'll never get used to aluminium," Kol shared his opinions holding the bat up as if he were worshiping a god. "But hey at least it won't break." Kol grinned going to swing at Damon. Layla noticed his holding the wooden broken bat and shoved Elena to the ground and kicked Damon in the back of the hed digging her thick heel into his arm. Damon tripped her over grabbing Elena and then Jeremy getting the hell out of there before either Original could really care to acknowledge considering their lack of motivation. When Layla got up she glared as Kol sighed in pain.

"I am going to kill Damon." Layla growled out getting up and brushing down her shirt and adjusting her jacket as she was wearing short. Once they got to their hotel room and when she finished getting dinner Kol was holding his phone on his way out.

"Nik texted me, he's told me that Damon and Elena are trying to find out who the vampire friends are descendant from, every vampire is sired to one of us and if we die we wipe out a whole blood line. They are looking for Mary." Kol explained to Layla with a sigh. Layla frowned deeply remembering Mary.

"God she was a nightmare why did Nik turn her?" Layla asked confused and disgusted. Kol chuckled shaking his head.

"He loves to control and he controlled her pretty damn well. She would have jumped off a bridge without the compulsion if he told her." Kol commented as Layla walked out of the room and she got into the car.

"Nice drive to Kansas." Layla rolled her eyes as she started the car driving off with Kol. When they got to Mary's house they walked in and Kol grinned kissing Mary. Layla rolled her eyes in disgust. Mary grinned looking over at Layla and going to hug Layla.

"It is so good to see you again" Mary exclaimed as Layla grabbed a wooden lamp post breaking it and breaking Mary's neck and then steaking her through the heart pinning her up on the wall.

"Always did say I'd hang her dead body up for everyone to see." Layla spat with disgust turning away and pouring herself a drink.

"Hm I like your dramatics sister." Kol chuckled sitting in the dark with his bat and Layla laid on the bed drinking the wine Mary had. They heard Elena, Damon and Jeremy outside after a while and waited patiently. Damon and Elena then walked into the room and Layla smirked.

"Mary" Damon breathed out upon seeing her body hung up on the wall.

"Quite contrary." Kol darkly joked turning the light on. Kol looked up at Damon rubbing his fingers together.

"Enough with the rhymes." Layla sighed out remembering Kol's long obsession with them.

"Not now sister." Kol sighed getting up walking over to Mary. "Shame about Mary she used to be quite a blast."

"If that's what you are calling a strumpet with an overactive obsession for a family." Layla muttered dryly not bothering to get up from the bed pouring herself another glass of wine.

"Yes it is maybe all the time she spent with our family may have ruined her." Kol commented looking back at her.

"Were you her favourite?" Elena asked Kol trying to be sly.

"You mean did I turn her? Maybe I did. But wait there was Rebekah, and there was also a Klaus period, and the Elijah endearment and let's not forget the Layla affair. Come on I know you went and tasted her waterfall." Kol cheekily commented looking at Layla with a grin much to her chagrin.

"We spoke to Nik; we know you are trying to find where you descended from." Layla spat getting up and slowly walking around to face the two. "Guess you never will unless you take a Russian roulette of death."

"So where did we leave off?" Kol asked hitting Damon in the leg causing him to fall down and he then hit him in the arms breaking them.

"Elena get out of here." Damon grit out and Layla sped over to her grabbing Elena's hair and slamming her face into the wall causing her to fall to the ground.

"According to our brother you are off limits please don't test me." Layla tried looking at the bleeding doppelgänger. Damon then got up and grabbed Layla's throat. Layla let out a husky laugh shoving him off and Kol threw him against the wall.

"Oh dear we've hit a nerve have we?" Kol asked laughing. "Relax darling I just want us to be even. You snapped my neck, you killed our brother and you humiliated me." Kol called out hitting him on the back over and over again. Layla crossed her arms watching Elena carefully as she stood up. "There now we're even, Layla have a go," Kol urged her handing her the bat but Layla stormed past him picking Damon up and reaching into him and clawing at his insides for a minute on end. She then got up grinning.

"Next time one of my brothers because of you two I'll be sure to desiccate and decapitate you. An eternity of torture will be done right." Layla warned him turning around and walking out of the house with Kol and getting in her car and the two drove off. While on their way down the road Kol turned to Layla with a sigh.

"Where to now sister? I'm just as bored of Denver as you." Kol stated looking beyond the horizon.

"Visit New York for a while. It sounds fun." Layla informed him with a shrug. "How long do you think it will be until Nik calls on us for help again?" Layla asked with a bittersweet expression.

"Probably not long but let's enjoy our freedomwhile we can." Kol let out a small laugh pouring himself a drink driving offinto the highway.
