Once they'd made it to the island where Silas resided Katherine smirked to Layla. "Don't make yourself known until one of them is in danger, you'll get bonus points if it's Elena and Jeremy. I mean the precious little cupcake it too fragile for anything. They think your all good and with the way Rebekah grieves they'll think the same about you." Katherine explained with a smirk cast upon her lips. Layla saw that night that Jeremy was taken by an islander. Layla sped forward killing the man who stole him and draining the man dry. Narrowing her eyes dangerously at Jeremy she moved back fleeing back to Katherine. The next morning she walked across the beech with a stoic expression walking forward to Stefan, Elena and Rebekah.

"Hi children." Layla taunted walking over to them looking between them.

"You took Damon! Did you kill him?" Elena called out in outrage. Layla just watched amused before grabbing her neck choking her and Stefan's eyes widened and Rebekah smirked.

"You killed my brother you are lucky I'm not bleeding you dry and compelling you to rip off and eat your own flesh. I didn't take him. I just arrived. I'm in searching for the cure." Layla explained letting Elena drop to the ground before walking off lighting a cigarette. She then walked over to Rebekah after she finished who was looking to Stefan and Elena. "Jealous are we?" Layla asked smirking.

"As if you wouldn't be if you weren't hell bent on revenge." Rebekah spat and Layla saw some rustling in the trees. Getting a text from Katherine she smirked. "What did you see?" Rebekah asked curious.

"I'll catch up with you later Beks, I've hunted a few locals see you soon." Layla grinned speeding off and she then saw Katherine and the two sped to the cave. Layla jumped down the well hiding behind the podium, she and an Elena dressed Katherine walked in and saw Elena, Layla sped forward snapping her neck quickly and smirked to Katherine. "That felt good." Layla grit out.

"Hm I know right." Katherine agreed laughing and the two walked off. As they made it into the tomb down the halls of the cave they saw Bonnie on the ground and Jeremy standing over her. Layla sped up to the hunter going in to bite him as he punched Jeremy.

"The hunters curse." He warned her thinking he was repaying her favour. Layla smirked forcing him to his knees.

"Good thing I have a witch in case." Layla shrugged feeding on the vampire hunter and letting him bleed out throwing him to the ground. Katherine then helped Jeremy up.

"You okay?" She asked playing Elena. Jeremy nodded looking to Layla in guilt at her furious expression at seeing Silas.

"Elena's here now everything is going to be alright." Jeremy promised Bonnie with a smile as Katherine and Layla looked to each other with straight faces.

"Come on we got to get up." Katherine urged.

"We have to get Bonnie up the hunter stabbed her." Jeremy informed Katherine worried. "You have to feed her." Jeremy urged as Katherine got up him.

"I need to make sure you're okay first." Katherine pointed out. Layla kneeled down to Bonnie looking at her with a keen eye.

"Expression" Layla whispered and Bonnie looked to her confused.

"How" Bonnie asked as Layla smirked.

"Yet to be discovered." She whispered mysteriously and then got up turning to Katherine and Jeremy.

"I'm fine what are you doing?" Jeremy asked.

"The cure" Katherine urged.

"You forget how much of a brat he is Katherine." Layla spat hitting Jeremy's head over the wall hard enough for him to lose focus but not hard enough for him to go unconscious. She then dragged him to Silas. "I didn't want it to end this way Jeremy but you killed my brother and now I'll kill Elena's. A brother for a brother, there is some poetic justification in that." Layla snarled shoving Jeremy's neck down to Silas' fangs feeding up and then taking the cure speeding off with Katherine. As they escaped the island Layla felt an overwhelming feeling of hatred spiralling inside of her. There was no satisfaction in revenge. But she had a thousand years to love her brother, Elena only had a measly 17. Elena would know half her grief. She knew that long ago it never would. But she'd touched the untouched darkness inside of her she hadn't for a long time. She'd been happy to drink her nights away in this century. It brought light. A hope. But ever since Kol died she'd knew better than ever. Hope was overrated. So was untouched darkness.
