Walking back into the house late in the morning Layla entered where Freya was stressfully pulling out her hair trying to figure something out. Looking to her Freya glared at Layla. "What? Did I do something?" Layla inquired raising an eyebrow.
"Yes you did, you didn't go with Rebekah to find out how to bring Kol back. You could have been there to help her escape the strix." Freya stood up scolding Layla who nodded biting her lip thinking about it.
"You ever done Slavic Magic?" Layla inquired pouring herself a drink. Freya looked at her confused.
"I've only heard about it, Dahlia didn't like that kind of magic, she told me it was strict and ancient." Freya informed her. Layla nodded walking forward.
"You draw upon your own will. I went through a bit of a fad with Slavic magic for a while. Anyway there is a spell you can cast, it requires a lot of magic and you'll have to gather some binding agents and herbs while chanting but it'll work. I'll explain after thanksgiving." Layla informed him. Putting on her black high neck cocktail dress and black pumps she curled her hair and even added red lipstick and walked downstairs looking between everyone with a smirk and she walked up to Klaus nodding to him. Her eyes then landed on Aroura. "There is a face I wished to never see again." Layla sighed she then noticed the shoulder things on Aroura's dress and Klaus eyed her carefully urging her to not comment on anything.
"How about we start the evening without a rude comment about a dress and rather an acknowledgement of your alliance." Elijah spoke formally.
"I assure you-"Lucien was cut off.
"Lucien let's not ruin the dinner before it begins." Elijah cut Lucien off amused.
"And do bare in mind we expect an honest and productive discussion this evening." Klaus pointed out.
"Hm otherwise we'll be forced to violence and now I've taken a break but I could easily fall back into old patterns." Layla smiled as they all were ushered to the table and Layla frowned noticing her name for her assigned seat next to Lucien and she narrowed her eyes between her brothers as she sat down next to him.
"Couldn't stay away from me love?" Lucien asked leaning close to her to which Layla drew in a breath giving him a fake smile.
"Now considering how large your ego seems to be I normally wouldn't mind bruising it but it is thanksgiving after all so do not push it." Layla warned him as the servants walked up placing something down.
"It's a bit off isn't it celebrating an American holiday?" Lucien asked looking around.
"Well you know Lucien I rather enjoy thanksgiving the turkey, the dessert, the cranberries, the lies, the deceit, the betrayal" Elijah drawled out looking around at individual people to which Lucien stared at Elijah confused as if he was looking at a math equation he couldn't solve. "Perhaps we should proceed this evening with a little confession." Elijah suggested.
"I confess this is boring." Layla nodded her head looking around as Klaus smiled while Elijah let out a huff of amusement.
"I know formal dinners are not your forte Layla and that your barbaric habits were never dropped but bear with us for a moment." Elijah tried with a strained smile.
"Do this entire dinner is an inquisition? How rude." Aroura snarled.
"Nonsense love my brother just wishes for us to all be on the same page, so who would like to begin?" Klaus asked.
"Well Lucien and I have always loathed each other" Tristan explained.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Layla drawled out looking between them as Tristan looked at her shaking his head.
