When she found herself back in Mystic Falls she decided to go to the high school Prom. Klaus knocked on her door with a small smirk. "Sister deal with this. I know you have a nice dress in there somewhere." Klaus sighed annoyed before stomping off. Layla raised an eyebrow and looked to Caroline.
"Come on Caroline," Layla urged Caroline into her room. Caroline stepped in looking around cautiously.
"Um are you sure you have a dress I'd like? We don't look the same size." Caroline stated making Layla look back at her.
"I'm coming to prom with you, this dress was vintage and custom made, but it'd look hot on you." Layla stated handing Caroline a dress and she looked at it in awe and then grinned squealing hugging Layla and then pulled away realising she was hugging Layla.
"Sorry, you can come with me. This is beautiful." Caroline gasped in awe. Looking to Caroline confused.
"I'm glad I could help Caroline, you can keep it, it looks better on you anyway." Layla stated walking over and putting her own dress on. Caroline looked Layla over with a smile.
"You look beautiful as well." Caroline informed her kindly.
"Thank you...really Caroline," Layla smiled in appreciation. The two then drove to the prom and walked in Caroline smiled looking around. "I have to admit, you did a good job for a teenage Barbie vampire." Layla laughed with Caroline looking around at the amazing scene.
"I know, it's amazing, of course it would be I did it." Caroline quipped as Elena walked up to them.
"So how do I look?" Elena asked grinning looking her over.
"Are you kidding me you look like a backstabbing- your dress looks beautiful." Caroline sighed when she saw Stefan stopping her rage. Layla looked between them her eyes meeting with Stefan's. "And it brings out your eyes."
"Thanks thought I'd do it a favour." Elena shrugged. Shifting awkwardly Layla tapped Caroline on the shoulder handing her a flask.
"Might need it," She sighed before grabbing Stefan's hand. "I want to dance with you." Layla called quickly walking to the dancefloor with him.
"I see you helped Caroline with a dress." Stefan pointed out with a forced smile.
"She looks beautiful." Layla commented with admiration in her eyes. "Now what about you Stefan? You and Elena, I'm not an idiot; I see you've fallen in love with her again."
"I keep thinking I've moved on, saying to myself I'm over her, I'm ready to move on. But tonight I think I've fallen back in love with her again. I don't know." Stefan sighed not being able to believe he told her. Layla smiled up at him remembering a time when she was inconceivably in love with someone.
"I remember what being in love was like Stefan. It may have been a thousand years ago but I remember it. You'll never fall out of love with someone but you can move on with someone else, you can love someone else." Layla kindly offered her wisdom to him. Stefan looked at her slightly shocked as he heard her words. She had been in love. He'd always thought none of the original family had ever been truly in love.
"What was it like for you? Being in love and moving on?" Stefan asked curiously. A soft smile formed on her face as she recounted what it was like.
"He was very courteous about my virtue even if I was a vampire. He knew from the moment he met me, I fell for him quickly. The only time I hadn't been consumed by hunger was when I was in love with him. But then my father came, he forced us to run. I don't know what happened to him but I hope he had a long and fulfilling life." Layla reminisced with a nostalgic smile. Stefan chuckled watching as she seemed more human than ever.
"Do you think you'd ever be able to feel something for anyone again?" Stefan asked carefully as he spun her around and then pulled her back. The two stared each other in the eye and Layla gave him a sad smile.
"It appears I already am." Layla commented feeling her chest tighten when she was looking into Stefan's eyes.
"Why?" Stefan asked.
"Because I decided to make a mistake and I began to like you." Layla confessed leaning up placing a soft kiss on his cheek pulling away slowly. She then disappeared from him. Looking out into the distance as she walked a smile formed on her lips feeling a true happiness.
