The next day when Layla woke up and showered she walked over to Lucien who handed her some human food. Looking at him sceptically she took a bite liking it. "I assume you have forgiven me for the Aroura incident?" Lucien asked carefully making Layla grin shaking her head.
"Not in a million years but I just checked my phone seems as if she buried my very mortal sister. We will discuss later." Layla informed him getting in her car and driving to the Mikaelson home where she got in the car driving off and she read the poem cringing. "I do hate poetry used to say nothing good ever came out of a poets mouth." Layla commented with a frown making Elijah chuckle.
"Yes your distaste in poetry surely shocked quite a few of the noblemen and women many years ago." Elijah laughed remembering how odd Layla was treated but that didn't stop the suitors from rolling in. Once they rolled up to the woods the siblings began tracking through the woods as Layla began thinking about all of the better shoes she could have worn apart from High heels.
"Freya's not in there" Klaus stated with a sigh. "She was but I can smell her blood the strongest scent is due west." Klaus commented.
"You track the scent you and Layla, I'll take the cabin." Elijah ordered making Layla roughly grab his hand.
"Finding Freya is a one man job, taking down Aroura with a white oak bullet that is a two man job. You aren't walking to your death without me." Layla defiantly countered with narrowed eyed.
"Fine, oh Niklaus promise me Aroura dies today." Elijah commented as the two walked into the cabin looking around. Layla looked around as the wooden bullet holding it up and then pocketing it. "Aroura" Elijah sighed out looking down at the crazy bat holding a gun to Elijah.
"A modern weapon for a modern woman with a little bit of flair of course I couldn't help myself." Aroura laughed out with a condescending smirk. "It's pretty"
"Pretty vulgar, theatrical and tasteless as ever. Where is Freya?" Elijah demanded to know.
"Oh Elijah you continue to remain a stick in the mud," Aroura lightly joked. "And it seems your darling sister takes after you, she's stuck out there in the mud somewhere busy as a little bee. Dying if not already dead." Aroura teased.
"You are bat shit crazy." Layla cussed rolling her eyes.
"Is that any way to treat someone who has a gun pointed at your brother? And someone who is holding dear old Wilhelm captive." Aroura laughed. Layla went to run away after Elijah nodded an okay but Aroura turned her weapon on Layla.
"Allegiance of enemies have fallen by my family's hands what makes you think you are any different?" Elijah inquired.
"You actually believe in your own myth you and your brother created?" Aroura laughed out.
"Nothing last always and forever and certainly not you two." Aroura switched to aim the gun to Elijah.
"So what are we waiting for? Niklaus." Elijah answered his own question and a smirk graced his features.
"I'm not here to kill Niklaus I am merely waiting for him to arrive. So he can watch you die." Aroura fiercely spat at Elijah.
"She's got the look again." Layla informed Elijah who chuckled lightly.
"I know that look all too well. You think I am responsible for your little break up how adorably delusional of you Aroura." Elijah tauntingly commented. "You do realise you are insane? Niklaus may be durable but there is only so much madness even he can take. I suppose even he was about to understand the difference between real love and desire."
"The veil is lifted alright love is nothing but a trap. I was sure to inform Lucien of your fickle love Layla." Aroura spat shoving Elijah away holding the gun to his chest making Layla feel utterly powerless. "He'll break your heart the way Nik broke mine." Aroura called out. "The only thing I truly agree with you is that only the love of family is truly unbreakable." Aroura commented with tears in her eyes. "It is the only love you will fight for and my brother Tristan suffers in a box drowning over and over again unable to die so I will end his suffering by ending you" She threatened shoving Elijah back. "The look on your siblings faces as this white oak bullet pierces your heart will be the same as my broken heart." Aroura called out. As the door opened Layla looked to Elijah wide eyed.
"Stop this" Klaus tried.
"Why? One brothers life for another torment it's almost poetic" Aroura yelled.
"The bullet it white oak." Elijah warned Klaus how just stepped forward.
"We both know you are not going to pull the trigger." Klaus tried.
"Yet again you are wrong." Aroura spat going to shoot Elijah as Layla shoved him out of the way as the bullet shot out and Layla stood there for a long moment pushing the pain away. Luckily Freya ran off. Layla then sped after Klaus as he went to go and kill Aroura and Elijah looked at her. Pulling out the bullet lodged inside of her she put it in her pocket crying out in pain she knew there was a splinter in her blood stream. She then went to find Klaus. Just as she was about to shoot Klaus, Layla sped in front of Aroura grabbing the gun and shoving her away as Aroura then sped away and Layla crouched to the ground clenching her jaw in pain. Running over to her Klaus watched as she bled out not knowing what to do. Klaus reached inside of Layla's chest and she cried out in pain.
"The bullet gets closer to your heart with every beat I have to stop it." Klaus called out and Layla shook her head stroking Klaus' face softly letting out a small cynical smile.
"I'm okay with dying Nik." Layla informed him calmly.
"I will not let you die." Klaus informed her snapping her neck and reaching in pulling out the bullet. He looked to Layla with relief brushing her face as he pocketed the bullet. He then looked down at her hand picking it up seeing the wedding ring on her ring finger. Looking down at Layla's peaceful face he'd never seen her die apart from being daggered. She never looked peaceful then. Picking up Layla and he placed her in the car as they drove home and he placed her in her bed letting her rest. Once she awoke she got up hungry and saw blood on her shirt. Walking out Klaus walked up to her sternly. "I told you that you will not die today." Klaus uttered smiling down at her.
"Thank you Niklaus," Layla thanked him before going to walk past him causing him to roughly grab her arm.
"The wedding ring? Did I not get an invite?" Klaus teased.
"It's about a thousand years late to complain about invites." Layla countered dryly.
"Or perhaps you can have another wedding to which your family will attend." Klaus wishfully thought looking to Layla who looked around with a smirk thinking about it.
"Maybe after we kill the enemies." Layla informed him with a small laugh.
