Chapter 26: "Cobra Kai1972

The next day Layla was sitting at the Whitmore bar drinking as she felt uncomfortable doing it alone. As she was on her 4th round she saw someone talking to Liv the witch from the dinner. "Cobra Kai 1972, you too thirsty you should follow me," He laughed and Layla raised an unimpressed eyebrow.

"Another one please." Layla ordered and Liv poured her one

"It's kind of dead I'm going to close up soon." Liv informed them.

"Oh wait I'll get a real drink, bourbon I'm secure enough in my masculinity." Kai commented making Layla look to him as if he were an idiot before shaking her head. "Vodka is boring, rums too tropical. Oh tequila you do not want to see me on tequila. What about gin? Is that weird?" Kai asked.

"Not if you're a 50 year old." Liv dryly bit back. "But since you look 19 I'm going to need to see some ID."

"Oh of course." Kai sounded getting something out of his pocket and he showed her his ID.
"1972 nice try" Liv laughed handing the ID back to him.

"Not it's true but that's not the most interesting thing on the ID name, address..."Kai trailed off.

"Malachi Parker oh my god." Liv whispered before Kai grabbed her arm and his hands began to glow red.

"Last time I saw you I was trying to kill you, let's pick up where we left off." Kai laughed as Layla sped up to him throwing him across the room and she looked to Liv with a shrug. She then grabbed Liv and kicking the door open as they ran out and they ran into Tyler and he nodded to her.

"Thanks Layla." Tyler breathed out as they ran out to the cemetery and Elena and Damon showed up.

"What did you do?" Elena snapped.

"Kai is here in Mystic Falls we needed to stop before he takes anymore of her magic." Tyler backed up as Elena stalked over to the two.

"No send me back first." Elena begged as Tyler and Liv crossed the border.

"I can't." Liv regretfully spoke to Elena.

"Bonnie was on her way send me back." Elena angrily yelled storming up to the two but Layla shoved her away from the border knowing the no magic rule.

"Calm your shit Elena before you get yourself killed." Layla commented crossing her arms.

"I'm sorry Elena. Layla call me if you see Kai crossing the border." Tyler called out making Layla nod her head and she walked away. Her eyes snapped up to Kai's and she smirked.

"For the record gin gets a bad rep" Layla commented walking past him and he grabbed her arm absorbing her magic and she cried out in pain shoving Kai away with narrowed eyes.

"Hm naughty Layla, yeah I heard your name from Ty, Ty, but Lay-Lay you have something different from vampire magic in you." Kai smirked getting in her face close to it. Layla's eyes turned to his lips then to his eyes narrowing.

"I was a witch before I was a vampire a thousand years ago. Maybe that's what you caught." Layla sneered before speeding away. Standing with Stefan she brushed his face gingerly pulling him in slowly for a kiss. His lips met hers moving. The two then pulled away glimpsing into each other's eyes.

"I'll see you soon?" Stefan asked with a smile.

"Of course you will. But the next time you see me I may be in a different body." Layla agreed with a smirk.

"Why?" Stefan asked.

"My mother made a deal with me, I'm thinking I may take it up the offer that is. I um I miss being human. I think this is the first time I ever said this but I miss it." Layla repeated drawing in a breath before walking climbing onto the plane and going to New Orleans.
