It was time for school again and Scott was in a good mood. He had already dropped Asher off at Tori's room and was now heading back to his own classroom. Zoey, like usual, was waiting outside of his room.
"Hey, Mr. Hoying."
"Morning, Zoey." Scott smiles. "How was your weekend?"
Scott had gotten Asher for the weekend so he hadn't been able to see Mitch. It's not like he didn't think about inviting the brunette over. Scott just wanted to have quality time with his son, since school and work took up most of both of their time together. Plus Asher had a lot of friends and was often over at one of their houses.
"It was good." Zoey says. "My dad was off on Saturday and Sunday."
Scott could tell that from the way Zoey said this it didn't happen very often. Scott was happy that Mitch got to be with his kids as well.
"Did you guys do anything fun?" Scott asks.
"Yeah, my dad took Blake and I to a movie and then we got pizza." Zoey says. "It was nice spending time with him. What did you do over the weekend, Mr. H?"
"I just spent some quality time with my son." Scott shrugs. "You should find your seat, the bell's going to ring soon."
Zoey nods and goes to her seat near the front of the room. Zoey was Scott's only student that wanted to be seated at the front of the room. Normally only the kids who were late getting into class occupied the front.
A minute later the bell rings and Scott fixes his button up. It was time to start the day. Scott absolutely loved being a high school teacher. Ever since he was in high school himself he knew that he had wanted to be a teacher. Scott had always known he liked helping people, especially people younger than himself.
For a brief moment Scott had wanted to be a doctor. He realised he hated blood too much for that though. Maybe he would have ended up working with Mitch. He couldn't help but think about. He would never date a co-worker though. So maybe it's for the best that Scott didn't end up being a doctor.
Scott starts his class on that days assignment and then goes to sit down at his desk. It doesn't take long for Scott to get a text once he's sitting down.
Mitch:
I know you probably don't have time to talk because you're in class right now. I just wanted to ask you something.Scott:
I'll always have time for you, Mitch. What's up?Mitch:
Do you want to come over tonight? You can bring Ash, I just want us to all have dinner together.Scott:
I'd love to.Mitch:
Really?!Scott:
Of course. It will be nice to see you again plus your kids can get used to not calling me Mr. Hoying.Mitch:
Well, I look forward to seeing you tonight.Scott:
I always look forward to seeing you. I'll be there around five?Mitch:
Sounds great!Scott puts his phone away and smiles. He did want to ask Mitch to be his boyfriend fairly soon. Everyday that passed Scott got a little closer to actually doing it. He was definitely excited for tonight. If they were going to date, both Scott and Mitch's kids would have to be ok with it.
Scott didn't want things to be awkward since he saw Blake and Zoey almost everyday. He also wanted to make sure that Asher did like Mitch. His son's oppinon meant a lot to the blonde.
The rest of the day goes by normally and soon Scott is walking to go pick his son up. He gets there rather quickly and smiles at Tori. They had been friends for awhile now. Asher absolutely adored her, and that only made Scott like her more.
"Hey, Tori." Scott smiles. Asher perks up at the sound of his dad's voice. "How was my little monster today?"
"Hey, Scott." she says. "Ash was prefect. During recess I let him have people sign his cast."
"Look at all the signatures!" the little boy says happily. Scott crouches down next to his son and looks at all the drawings and signatures now on the blue cast.
"Those are cool, buddy." Scott says. "You ready to head home?"
Asher nods and Tori hands him his crutches. Scott says bye to Tori before exiting the classroom with his son. Now all Scott had to do was go home and wait for it to be time to go to Mitch's house.
